What's Spinning

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced

Andy Shauf - The Neon Skyline

This is a great album that gets better with each listen. It's basically a collection of interconnected short stories with themes of friendship, heartbreak, and the local bar. Rewards careful listening from front to back, and the more I listen, the more I'm reminded of Paul Simon.

More birthday Pete Ham.

Everybody knows this one. Few realize Pete wrote it...

"Badfinger I loved. Those guys were just so incredible. It's so tragic what happened to them. If you listened to Pete Ham's song "Without You", he wasn't kidding." - Cyril Jordan of Flamin' Groovies

Badfinger - No Dice

If you haven't seen Over The Garden Wall yet, please do me a favor and do it. It's a beautiful and well made tale for everyone from kids to adults. The music is awesome, the script is well written, the cast is great(Elijah Wood & Christopher Lloyd are two of the main characters) and the animation is beautiful. One of the best 1:30 hrs you'll ever see.

Then, if you liked the cartoon, listen to the Tiny Star EP and grab it from mondo because the pressing sounds awesome and it's made by the same guys who made the music for the series. 👌

My collection #371-372

Bill Withers - Justments
Levitation Orchestra - Inexpressible Infinity

Forgot the Bill Withers from last night - arguably as good as his first two albums for me, and that means it's bloody amazing.
And Poland's Astigmatic label is one of my very favourites for moden jazz. It's home to EABS, Cykada and this fabulous big group from London that include violin, harp and choral voices (not normally my thing) for a fabulous racket.
