The Verve - Urban Hymns (2008 'From The Capitol Vaults' Series)
Big thanks to @Gavaxeman for this PIF, cheers again buddy! Have to admit that The Verve somehow flew under my radar until now. Really enjoyed the first playthrough, I always imagined 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' might be the only song on it worth listening to but im certainly wrong there, plenty of great songs here!
Count Basie and the Kansas City 7 - (1962, Impulse! AS-15 Stereo Pressing).
Such a fantastic record! I have a few Count Basie records and but not a massive fan of big band jazz to be honest. This is much more stripped back and works incredibly well. Thad Jones kills it on Trumpet and Frank Foster & Eric Dixon's flute solos are top notch!
The pressing is outstanding as well, it was mastered by Rudy Van Gelder so that shouldn't be much of a surprise really. Great Stuff.
This one is surprisingly good. Upon checking it's the only time REM's original Hibtone versions of Radio Free Europe and Sitting Still have been on vinyl apart from the original. Also includes various demos from Chronic Town and Reckoning periods.
