Ethereal sounds of classically dissonant guitar from one of my favorite labels. Sounds really bizarre, hmm? Perhaps not one of my favorites from MFM, although I got it from last year's Rough Trade summer sale for less than $6, when these titles normally MSRP for $23+.
At long last... The Grammy nominated Christian hard rock band (AKA, my favorite band) RED have FINALLY released an album on vinyl! This is the very first vinyl release of any sort from the band. This is by far their heaviest album, so I'm happy to experience it on the vinyl format! This is the clear with red splatter press, exclusive to the deluxe bundle. The signed print you see is also exclusive to the bundle. Such an incredible album from a band that changed my life!
Allow me to drop this pic of me with their singer, Michael Barnes...
Before Chester Bennington was in Linkin Park, he was in a post-grunge band called Grey Daze. Shortly before his death, he was planning a reunion with the band. Well, after his passing, the band took his original vocal recordings, remastered them, recorded new instrumentals and made this fantastic record. It's amazing hearing the voice of Chester again. Rest in peace, legend
Walter Davis Jr. - Scorpio Rising (Steeplechase, 1989 First Pressing)
A superb Steeplechase release of a live recording session. Its fantastic from start to finish, but my only gripe is on the final track, Scorpio Rising, where for the full 9minutes one of the musicians is constantly making these high pitched grunts which is really offputting. Apart from that its fire.
