This is a breathtaking modern jazz release, with a few bleeps and bloops sprinkled in. Something different from the typical old-school hard bop in my comfort zone.

I resent the term "vaporwave." I resent most music commonly classified as vaporwave. It never clicked with me, and I have viewed this genre of music as a meme to not take seriously.
But this album? I love it. Not only do I love it, it's one of my top 25 of the decade. Instead, I classify this as "future ambient." I can only imagine that the music and atmosphere set by this record is the backdrop to a futuristic dystopian city, perhaps in Japan (with the title of the album in Hiragana + Kanji). It teleports me away from the strife of the modern day and into blissful fantasy.
