Quin Kirchner - The Shadows and the Light

This is very likely to be my favourite album of 2020. Fabulous modern jazz but taking inspiration from Sun Ra, Mingus, Elvin Jones etc etc. It's really impressive stuff and I'm on my fourth listen already since getting it. Makes me want to get his debut on wax too (he's promised a repressing is on its way). Kirchner is a drummer but he doesn't want to put himself centre stage all the time and it's all the better for it.

This one was never going to be easy to photograph but I suppose given the title it’s not wholly inappropriate.

This is one of my go-to albums for checking out new equipment. Great sound, it's a record I have heard many times and the pressing is good.

Did I mention that probably should be called a modern classic?

Not many bands did guitar indie pop in the 90s better than Popsicle. Absolutely top shelf stuff from Sweden's finest!

Do you have a record vacuum? If so, search out Chisto record cleaning concentrate. It should be called “static be gone” but Chisto works too- it means “clean” in Ukranian.

I do. I have an Okki Nokki and a bottle of Chisto (check PM ) with 4 more on the way. I talked to the dealer i south the UltraDeck from and he also suggested that it could be the TTVJ or other elements in my room and that he was gonna send me a "care package" of Okki Nokki concentrate as well as a few other products i could try. He never did send it, though, and it doesn't really matter now anyway haha

#14: Miles Davis Quintet - Live in Europe 1967

My favourite jazz band at the absolute peak of their powers. They swing so hard on this. I can't get enough of this album.
