Day 24 of Dec

Darius Rucker - Home For The Holidays

The stockings are opened, Christmas dinner is just about to be put on, and so I'm turning to my go-to Christmas album. (Christmas Eve is the main day in Norway). I love Darius Rucker's voice and for me it's a perfect selection of songs and the kind of easy listening I incline towards for Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone!

I've probably mentioned this before - but he died essentially homeless in Salem. He's buried about 5 minutes from my house. I still want to go out to the cemetery sometime...maybe next year.

Tubby Hayes Quartet - The Syndicate: Live At The Hopbine 1968 Vol.1 (Gearbox Records, 2015 Limited Mono Pressing)

Another killer Tubby Hayes album, this time one from Gearbox records. There are a TON of unreleased live recordings from London, many of which feature Tubby and its great that they are getting released. This one was recorded in 1968, which was the same year that he recorded 'Mexican Green', and features an incredible effort by the Irish guitarist Louis Stewart.
