Found this in a punk/feminist book store in the city. As soon as I walked into the store I knew I wanted to buy something I never heard of before. Described as "13 girls fighting over a cowbell" I was immediately sold and intrigued!

Edit: Holy shit! Danny brown totally sampled the first song on this album for "dance in the water"!

You had me at punk/feminist store and now I’m listening and so far this may be one of my new faves.

Today would have been the 92nd birthday of the legendary avant-garde pianist Cecil Taylor. I have just pulled out this set to listen to. Its an incredibly varied mix of approaches/styles. Interestingly, this copy was given to the jazz journalist Steve Voce to review, with his name in the numbered box.

Just got to side C and discovers there’s an etching on side D on translucent clear vinyl, meaning I can enjoy the etching while spinning side C. I think every other album I have that has an etching it’s on Opaque or black wax so this is a new aesthetic for me that I quite enjoyed.
