What's Spinning

Lost my dog last week and hadn’t been motivated to do much since, including spinning records, let alone post about them. Been trying to get back into the groove this week.

My deepest condolences about your dog. They are truly family. I do hope that memories of time spent with your pup can someday make you smile.

Went shopping in the city on this miserable day but I got some fun finds! Time to give em a spin

Donna Summer - On the Radio

MacArthur Park was one of my favorite songs I got into last year so I cant wait to hear it on wax

I also cant get over how well done this is for a Greatest Hits album! Each song transitions perfectly into the next like how this how these songs are supposed to be heard

This album is ingrained in my memory from my mom playing it on long road trips on 8-track!! Yeah, I’m old. Dim All the Lights is such a jam.

Pulsallama - Pulsallama

Found this in a punk/feminist book store in the city. As soon as I walked into the store I knew I wanted to buy something I never heard of before. Described as "13 girls fighting over a cowbell" I was immediately sold and intrigued!

Edit: Holy shit! Danny brown totally sampled the first song on this album for "dance in the water"!

The Stan Tracey Quartet ‎– Jazz Suite: Inspired By Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood (Columbia, 1956 First Mono Pressing)

I was reading an old jazz journal and saw a snippet regarding this album, and the subsequent one which saw the poem read over the music. A cool little piece to stumble across.
