Cheers to @Selaws for the Pepper birthday post.

Completely agree, I will listen later as well! It has a great story behind it as well that Pepper outlined in his mammoth autobiography.

Art Pepper Live At Ronnie Scotts, 20th June 1980.

I have shared this one before but today is a perfect time to listen again. It's an unreleased session of Pepper at Ronnie Scotts in 1980 (which doesn’t appear on the ‘complete’ set released by Pure Pleasure Records) and sees him in fantastic form. The chatter in-between adds a fantastic element with Pepper sharing stories, explaining the origins of each track, and even accepting a Jazz Journal International Readers Poll award on stage.

Despite the damage and the fact that I am most likely going to send this back (I can't see Amazon replacing parts annoyingly), I decided to see how it sounds. It's incredible, such a stunning session and a brilliant pressing as well. These LP's were, annoyingly, warped but playable. Still not the quality I was hoping for in terms of the damage, but the music cant be faulted.
