What's Spinning

How is this?
Been awhile since I've listened to it before today, but I'm enjoying it and the memories it evokes. There is definitely a sense of living on the edge, burnout, and resignation that courses through the album, but I think those are descriptions I've always associated with the Eagles and their vision of Southern California having grown up in LA when they were at their prime.

Just got through King of Hollywood on side one, and for a non-'single' cut it's just as good as everything else on the album.

Collection playthrough #29 (in order added to discogs)

I do love this comp. A compilation of Funk & Soul tracks from mostly locally or regionally known bands in the midwest in the late 60's / early 70's. Some amazing musicianship on this.

Collection playthrough #30 (in order added to discogs)

This one has covers of Joni Mitchell (Chelsea Morning) and Leonard Cohen (Suzanne), but what struck me was If You Go Away with lyrics by Rod McKuen. I know nothing about Rod McKuen or his poetry, but the name always brings back the memory of this particular Doonesbury cartoon.

Tom Fogerty of CCR checked out 32 years ago today.

Here's a nice little under the radar record he made with Jerry Garcia on guitar...

@Wicked Dreamer - I know you're a big CCR fan. You hip to this one?

Ton Fogerty - Excalibur

I'm actually woefully uninformed on any of CCR's solo works outside of a few John Fogerty hits. I'll be sure to give this one a listen tho!
