This point been well made amongst circles that appreciate this sort of thing but the reunited OG Dinosaur Jr. is way better than it has any right being. I am ecstatic that they did an anniversary reissue of this one. It sounds excellent and well worth the $20 it is currently going for.

The Joe Harriott Quintet – Formation: Live '61 (Jazz In Britain, 2022 Limited Pressing)

The first listen after ordering this album almost a year and a half ago. I have to say that im kind of disappointed. The artwork is subjective so I won't say too much about it (very bland imo though) but the real issue is the recording quality. It's a live session that sounds to be an amateur recording. JIB did say that there were issues with the tape that couldnt be rectified, but overall it isnt a smooth recording, unfortunately. The performance itself really is stellar though and as a historic release it's hard to complain as there are only a handful of historic Joe Harriott releases.

Finally roped my white whale (are those the appropriate metaphors?)

Tom Waits - Rain Dogs, 2007 Pressing "Made in Holland." The printing on the jacket looks like some shit VMP would pull (looking at you Blossom Dearie & Merle Haggard). Sounds pretty damn good though. Anybody else experience this pressing?
