It's a winner alright, Milestones is great and when Tony Williams joined I read that it was one of his favourite tunes and wanted Miles to start playing it live again , although this is technically a "Sextet" recording with the addition of Cannonball .

This may be a sacrilege to some, but this is my favorite 1st quintet album. Yes, I prefer it over KOB. The performances swing SO hard, Trane and Cannonball intertwine their playing beautifully, and the composition on the title track is just beautiful, and - pun intended- miles ahead of its time.

God, could this band play! It's only a bootleg but this is the second great quintet at the peak of their powers. Fun to have Albert Stinson sitting in on bass too. Heady stuff.
