What's Spinning

Mmmm.... tasty....

So the first disc is exactly what I expected, soulful funky psychedelic rock. The second disc screams Daniel Norgren to me and is amazing. The second disc is only available on vinyl:

Muriel Grossmann - Reverence

I don't know whether it's being lazy having the same artist as number 1 two years in a row or just a sign of how on fire Muriel Grossmann is currently. Actually, I'm going to go for the latter. This is really just superlative jazz. Last year's Golden Rule had a John Coltrane feel to it; I've read one review that says Reverence has more of an Alice Coltrane vibe to it and there might be something to it. The drums are more varied and I feel like the other players in the quintet (bass, guitar, organ) are on better form than last time round. That leaves Muriel's playing which is spiritual and inventive and just plain beautiful. This is going to have many, many happy spins.

It's Soundtrack Day in the Challenge thread....and I got a stack that I need to work my way through before filing.

This is a hard movie to watch - I get the social commentary and all...but the on screen animal killing was uncalled for (even though they were all eaten by the indigenous cast members) That said, I think it's something to watch at least once given its history in cinema.
