I'm starting Jazz Sunday with Pyjaen. Thank you to @sorcerer for being such an amazing Secret Santa. It's UK Jazz but it's not that classic UK sound we've become accustomed to over the past few years. It's more psycadelic and rock influenced. The electric guitar is an instrument that rarely features in the rest of my jazz collection. It's a welcome addition here
Sticking with the UK and another record to feature Dylan Jones on trumpet. I spoke about this record before, but it's really great and if you like Thundercat but are unfamiliar with Joe Armon-Jones' work then you should definitely give it a whirl. The track featuring Georgia Anne Muldrow is straight up fire.
If someone wants to know what the London jazz scene sounds like at the moment then just tell them to listen to this record. The way it blends Afro, Dub and Jazz epitomises the scene. It's also my third record in a row this morning to feature Dylan Jones on trumpet.
I've been looking for a decent firstpress of Hot Rats many years… not easy where I'm living in. So this pretty repress on Pink Vinyl to celebrate its 50th anniversary is doing the job.
