Jazz Sunday continues. This was one of my least favourites in the Blue Note Anthology. It's a bit too 'Green Onions' but there are some really lovely moments in it and the album does have a nice groove to it.

Another fantastic gift from @LeeVing. I have played this album soooo many times over the past few weeks, dont think it will ever get old!

And now to my favourite from the Blue Note Anthology. The drumming on this is amazing. That track with the rhythmical African influenced beat is incredible. Love, love love this album. The Anthology might have left me with buyer's remorse but there are a few cracking picks in it of which this is top of the pile.

Donald Byrd ‎– Black Byrd (Blue Note, 1973 First Pressing)

Byrd divided opinions on this one, with the critics and die-hard jazz aficionados hating it as it wasn't pure jazz, but the general public seemingly loving it enough to make it Blue Note's most sold record.
