Middleditch was exceptionally open about his lifestyle and open marriage to the point that his wife filed for divorce shortly after his public interview about it. I'm certainly sad to see it as Middleditch and Schwartz was great but honestly there was some smoke there too.

Honestly I was only vaguely aware of the open marriage thing, but I’ve been reading more about it today. Some things just don’t quite hit on my radar.

He has been discussed in comedy performer private groups as a person to avoid and, a few weeks ago, one of the goth club members referenced in the LA Times article (or a friend?) went public with it via TikTok. It seemed like the reaction was minimal and that he’d get a “get out of accountability free” card but perhaps it just took some time for the LA Times article to be put together. Alice Wetterlund who was an actor in Silicon Valley tweeted about how toxic the whole male cast was years ago and she tweeted about it again yesterday, affirming to fans that their sweetheart comedy nerd heroes on the show, even ones not named TJ Miller, aren’t very good dudes.

I can’t quite remember the stuff around TJ Miller but I do remember that being a big story. But the other cast members weren’t explicitly named or described as doing anything, so I never thought about it. Now I do. I wonder who else is involved in this shitty behavior, like the people in comedy that have continued to surround themselves around Middleditch.

I've been following this since 2017 and she has taken a page out of the book of every single parental alienator out there. She is doing this because she doesn't want to share custody with her children's father. Too bad, so sad, grow the f*** up and co-parent.

I saw him a few times live. He's a fantastic performer. But he BERATED a woman in the audience. It got really really uncomfortable. The crowd was split between those of us that were not sure what to do and then the others that were cheering him on.

Interesting that the Hall of Fame is keeping his plaque up. I guess if they took it down you it would set precedence for countless players who you'd have to take it down because of so many early baseball players being extremely racist.

Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays were added to the permanently ineligible list after their careers were over because they got jobs as greeters at a casino. MLB's then commissioner banned them for their proximity to gambling.

The next commissioner took them off the permanently ineligible list.

Between those instances both still attended the annual HOF induction ceremonies as currently enshrined members.

The interesting thing from the HOF isn't the plaque. It will be if they continue to invite Alomar to all the events they invite all living hall of famers to.

Never had this from a supervisor, just from a colleague. I was able to mitigate it decently because I work from home and hardly see him. It stopped when I got a job in a new department and he had no real reason to contact me. He still did some creepers IMing for a while, but he stopped when I kept greywalling him--giving him short one or two word answers and being very stand offish, but still business polite.
