Everything Video Games!

Having played both Two Point games before it, I have to say Two Point Museum is miles ahead of the others. I loved Hospital, thought Campus was a step back.

Museum improves on almost everything. One of the best builder games I've played. If anyone is looking for a silly, kinda chill game to pick up its worth it imo.

Just finished RoboCop Rogue City. I think - with doing almost all secondary objectives - it took me ~13 hours.

It has been on sale for $10, which is what I paid. It's normal price is $50. It is 100% not worth that amount. That is not a knock on the game as much as saying that it is about a $10 (20 tops) game.

If you have nostalgia (80/90s action movie kid here) for the source material then there is an added value.

Gameplay is simple. No cover, ducking, diving or jumping cause, ya know, you're RoboCop. Gunfights are satisfying and gory. But it is mostly corridor fights where you catch bullets, heal, unleash head pops and body blisters.

There are dialogue trees and relationships, but, honestly they feel inconsequential and it was super easy to intuit the answers for the "best" endings.

Also, I usually play a game on the default setting and save harder modes for replays. I played this game in hard setting and it never had much of a challenge. Even in Reddit people talked about how the final boss fight is difficult and incongruous with the difficulty of the rest of the game. This is somewhat accurate. I found the final boss fight to be more difficult and prolonged than anything else in the game. With that said, I still beat it on my second attempt.

I probably won't replay it. I cannot see myself drawn to revisit it or that it would not be a slog as another playthrough.

But at $10 I feel like it was money well spent. At $50 I would've felt like a rip off. At $20, which I've seen it before, I would've felt disappointed but not ripped off.

Overall 6/10

this is exciting. I will definitely check it out.

yoo, so i was under the impression that my childhood DS and my brother’s own DS were lost to the sands of time and just thrown away or something, but no, turns out my brother had both of them stored in his room for YEARS and i didn’t know about this until now !!! 😱😵😵

the blue one is his, it’s in pretty bad condition, won’t even turn on with a replaced battery, needs the hinge (and by default, an entire new shell) replaced. this one will take a bit of investigation and work put into it. the red one is in far better shape, was able to turn on after trying with a new battery for like 30 mins. left d-pad barely works, bottom screen has blemishes and touchpad barely works. but at least i can tell with this one what works and what doesn’t, so fixing the blue one will be quite annoying. the ds lite models are already like the super most annoying handhelds to take apart, and now we gotta do it TWICE with these two. but don’t worry guys, i will do it!! it’ll take a while tho, probably won’t finish until the end of the year since i gotta order all the replacement parts and that can stack up, but at least now i know my childhood DS will be restored to its former glory :’)

Banged out most of The Last of Us Part II between Sunday and today, and now I'm finished. Wasn't planning on crushing it so fast, thinking that I'd only need to do some of the game before the new TV season, but the concurrent timelines had me second guessing whether they'd collate the POVs for the series, so I just kept chugging along. Guess I'm ready for the next three TV seasons! (That's what the WB execs are saying it might take to adapt all of Part II.)

The finish line is in sight for Nine Sols. The last boss is no joke, a true test of all the abilities you learn throughout the game. Been at it for hours so far, easily one of the hardest bosses I've ever encountered. Once I figure out how to parry the big attack in the final phase this will be done... and also getting to the final phase consistently... and also doing that with some healing...not that it matters if I can't parry that big attack. Anyways, it is a great fight and it's really cool to see the final boss be the hardest fight in the game instead of a secret/optional boss.

time for my normally scheduled The Finals season update hype train... SEASON 6 IS TODAY!!!

what is The Finals, you ask... why it's the "World's Greatest Game Show" and my absolute favorite game in many years!!

high speed, intense, insane destruction layered atop competitive, team based, skillful, objective gameplay - it offers so much more than see enemy/shoot enemy (though with the permanent inclusion of Team Deathmatch in S6 it has that now too!).

it's just pure joy (and sometimes frustration) to play, especially once you're in the groove of the game. I'm close to 1,100 hours (😲) since I started in Season 1 back in Jan'24.

playing with friends always makes these games better, but I have a great time even just playing solo...

plus the cosmetics (which I generally didn't care about) are pretty amazing, the music is incredible, and it's FREE TO PLAY!!!

for real ... try this game out if any of this looks/sounds good to you!

I downloaded this a while back and want to check it out soonish, but my play time has been nothing but Horizon 1 and 2 since we got the PS5 because I've discovered that open-world action RPGs like these and BOTW are my catnip.
