At my in-laws and my wife just caught me looking up "record stores near me" she was not impressed....and neither was I, this town has NOTHING going for it!!!
Took my daughter over to my sister's yesterday, just found out they have an organ and boy oh boy did my little girl take to it!!! It was such a joy watching her bang away on those keys like she's Thelonious Monk!!! Can't wait until she can actually play something!!!
Day 6 of COVID watch...so far nothing...no symptoms, no positive tests just exhaustion brought on by chasing my daughter around!! I love her but boy do I miss daycare!!! Can't use the "I was sick, heavily medicated, I had no idea what I pre-ordered!!" gotta stick with the old "wait I don't remember ordering that... probably easier to keep it then send it back.."
Things I've learned so far today, throwing on a Spoon record can kick off a dance party, my daughter knows only one volume, LOUD and our daycare provider, who is also my sister-in-law, tested positive for Covid....
Having some friends over tonight for dinner and drinks!! Sitting here putting together a playlist to listen to while I put together a playlist for tonight...I don't see a problem with this, my wife on the other hand...
I finally got motivated to start exercising again, arrived at the outdoor stairs ready to rock, throw on my headphones and hit shuffle, first song, Heart Attack Man... I hate you Spotify!!
As much as I try to have a clean "no buy" month there are always exceptions to the rule!! If I see a copy of Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man "Out of Season" just sitting there looking up at me with a damn retail price of 30 Canadian dollars you best believe all bets are off!!
If this splash pad is good enough for a dog it's good enough for me!! It's toasty outside!! Spinning 100% Dynamite trying to keep cool with mixed results!
Been looking at my want list and it's out of control! I needed to do something to make it more manageable, so what to do? Buy more records? Remove items I really don't want? No no no, none of that, I just broke my list into smaller lists!! Everything from "money is (almost) no object" to "do I really want this"....yeah I'm not using my free time very well...
Told my wife I was going to Costco today, she paused and took a couple of beats before saying "I think I'd rather you go to the record store"... I told her I could do both, she was not amused!
Went out for a lovely afternoon brunch with my wife while my mom watched our daughter, it was great, I didn't even go into the record store we past... I mean it was closed and I did check the door but no, no record shopping on our date day...
My wife is back to work after a year and a half of maternity leave and because I'm not working today I'm looking after the little one, and it's been a non stop Daddy daughter dance party... I really need to pace myself it's not even noon!!
Today is the day I bring the chaos that is my record collection into order...After I listen to a few more records... How do people do this? Alphabetical? By genre? Year? Colour? Do I rank these records 1-10 and put them together like that? By how often I'll play them? I need another coffee!
No better feeling than walking into a record store with no expectations and walking out with a couple of records that have been on your wish list for a while
Going to my local record store, about to blow my monthly vinyl budget!!! Actually I haven't had much luck the last few times I've been to this spot so it might not be so bad....yeah I almost believe that!!
I absolutely love it when I get in the car and something amazing is playing on the radio, I also hate that it's college radio and there's no chance they're actually going to say what it is!!
