Baseball

I think my brother and I will doing our Summer baseball trip this August to Denver to see the Rockies play either the Braves or the Padres. He's never been to Denver. It was between there or Seattle but that's a much longer flight and cost for us. Plus, he loves beer so there's plenty of breweries we can hit up. I think we'd like to do a Mariners game when we could also hit up a University of Washington game. It will be hard to top the SF/Oakland trip from last summer. I'd also like to do a Padres game in San Diego but we're planning to do that when we can also go up to LA and catch the Dodgers again. Love that stadium.

I've been wanting to get to Denver too, but wish that team was better! San Fran is fantastic, and Seattle is very similar it just doesn't have the bay over the wall. It's a great stadium! We're getting down for a Phillies/Padres game next month, and a couple Padres/Reds game too. Also squeezing in some golf at Torrey Pines and a fitting at the Callaway home office, but that's for another thread.
A few years ago my sister and I went to Denver to see the Giants play the Rockies and Jason Isbell at Red Rocks. It was such a great trip.

Ump almost screwed the Rangers out of a win tonight. Foul tips need to be reviewable. Or get the robot umps in place.

How ‘bout those Rockies?! I think the projection of a 105 loss season is being kind. Sad. Yet they get all sorts of media coverage and the Nuggets don’t get mentioned for days at a time on local network news shows on a regular basis. The Broncos get even more local media coverage than the Nuggets right now. Unbelievable.

Will they even sell out 14k seats?
Who knows. I enjoy going to minor baseball games and if I was in Sacramento and it’s a nice summer day and tix are reasonable I would go. If I was a hardcore A’s fan I probably wouldn’t as a protest but if I was Giants, Dodgers, or Angels fan I would absolutely go.

I might be joining a casual Wooden Bat/Sandlot/Twilight Adult Baseball League! Has anyone done something like this or know someone in a league like this?

I used to play Beer League Softball every summer on my old work's team but nothing like this. I reached out to my town's adult softball league and a town over to be a free agent this spring/summer but got crickets. Softball is obviously more casual and we had some horrible people on our team (if I'm being honest, but it's okay because it's fun and not competitive). Baseball is a little bit more skilled and there is pitching and catching. I don't expect someone to be whipping 90 MPH fastballs but it'll be relatively quick. I haven't played organized baseball since I was about 16 so I'm a little worried but everyone seems very chill so far.

Is it part of the Sandlot Revolution? Here in San Antonio we have 8 teams, I’m part of Los Monos de San Antonio but we meet up for mixed scrimmages on Mondays. There are teams all over the US and even some in Canada. It’s a lot of fun and def a step up from slow pitch, but I still miss slow pitch from a ‘casual’ standpoint.
