Baseball

Is it part of the Sandlot Revolution? Here in San Antonio we have 8 teams, I’m part of Los Monos de San Antonio but we meet up for mixed scrimmages on Mondays. There are teams all over the US and even some in Canada. It’s a lot of fun and def a step up from slow pitch, but I still miss slow pitch from a ‘casual’ standpoint.
yes it is!!

if you CTRL/CMD+F "Hartford" they're here

The uniforms the Twins are wearing at home tonight against my Rangers are so ridiculously good.

Can't say I'll miss him...but there's more bad umpires now than I can remember. Maybe it's the social media clips that I see.

This smells like a forced retirement, being so early in the season. Plus the fact he hasn't umpired a game since May 9th.

Also I don't think other umpires that always defended him did anything good for themselves. They should be calling out their own for doing a bad job, as it makes them all look bad. I wouldn't be surprised if umpires have a "Thin Blue Line" sorta thing.

If you are an official and i know your name, you are bad at your job. see also: Joey Crawford

Forgot to talk about my Rockies trip two weeks ago. Had a great time. A very enjoyable ballpark. Love how close it is to the breweries in RiNo. We parked pretty close and got in early to try out the Sandlot. Not a huge fan of the Rockie Dog but the weather was nice and we had a good time. The Rockies were pretty awful that night. We went on Todd Helton's number retirement ceremony night. Got a fun Todd Helton bobble head as a gift. Love downtown ballparks. Next year's trip was supposed to be Seattle but we're pivoting to San Diego as that's an easier flight.

We just went to Oracle Park while in San Francisco. That’s a fantastic ballpark.

It was a pretty full park which was a bit of a surprise since they were playing the White Sox. Probably helped that it was Harry Potter night and there were A LOT of people wearing Harry Potter themed Giants jerseys. Also, there was a a drone show following the game which was pretty cool.

Yes! Went there last summer and it was great. My brother was staying in Half Moon Bay for a couple weeks this summer and went again, he liked it so much. We also went to Oakland Coliseum. That was not so good. We may do a combo with the Padres for a night and the Dodgers for another night. I don't want to push it as my wife is pretty understanding but I don't want to press my luck too much.

I need to do a The Denmarkian Wonder style ranking of the ballparks I've been to. Well, now I just had to haul off and do it. I rate most city centric stadiums higher, especially ones with good transit options. Ones that don't fit that are more due to their classic nature. One is sentimental because when it wasn't 100 degrees, it was a great place to catch a ball game. Folks around here called it The Temple.

1. Wrigley Field
2. Fenway Stadium
3. Dodger Stadium
4. Oracle Park
5. Ballpark at Arlington (old Rangers stadium)
6. Target Field
7. Coors Field
8. Truist Field
9. new Yankees Stadium
10. Nationals Park
11. Citizens Bank Park
12. Globe Life Field
13. Anaheim Stadium
14. Oakland Coliseum
15. Arlington Stadium

The stadiums I have left to visit in order of interest:
1. PNC Park- I heard this is one of the best newer parks
2. Camden Yards-might wrap this into a combo with a trip to Citi Field since you can take the Amtrak from Baltimore to NYC or vice versa.
3. Petco Park- next summer
4. T-Mobile Stadium- maybe the summer after
5. Kaufmann Stadium- last of the old ballparks, plan to get there before they build the new one
6. Busch Stadium- might wrap this into a combo with Guaranteed Rate Field
7. Rogers Center
8. Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, Milwaukee- I just don't know when or why I would make it up to these. The trip to Pittsburgh would have one of these thrown into it.
9. Minute Maid Park- it's so close that I could drive down at some point
10. Arizona, Tampa, Miami

I might be biased, but Progressive Field (Cleveland) is highly underrated. Would be a great pairing with PNC Park.

No interest in seeing the Reds?

Yes but it's not one I would make a trip just to see that team or city. It would need to be part of a multi-city trip. If I went to Pittsburgh, I'd more likely go to Cleveland as well since it's close enough. A lot of these trips involve going to other places in the area. A trip to Oracle makes sense because you have San Francisco to visit. We tacked on Oakland just because it was close. Dodgers, you can tool around Los Angeles. San Diego, great city to visit. Mariners, same thing. The trip to see the Rockies also had the benefit of going to see the Rocky Mountains. The midwest/Rust Belt don't have the same appeal as the others on my list.
