Baseball

I like the move to trade Hader away while his value is still pretty high. But yeah I don't like that it was to another contender. Its been time to move on from him, though. He's been amazing for us for years, but also has blown a lot of big games including playoff games. His mid-season struggles this year could have been a sign to move on. Devin Williams is still 🔥, and should be a great closer. Hopefully this Roger's guy is good too. Not sure about the rest.
That Hader trade was just the beginning it seems like with the expanded wild card, almost every team still feels like they are still in the hunt so there isn’t a large delineation between buyers and sellers this year. You have lots of post season contenders making direct trades with other post season contenders.

The Nationals had Bryce Harper, Max Scherzer, Anthony Rendon, Trea Turner, andJuan Soto all on their roster over the past 5 years. They shoulda been able to flip Harper, Scherzer, and Rendon for some pretty great prospects and then had Turner and Soto lead the new group for the next decade. I would be pissed if I were a Nationals fan.

It kinda reminds me of The Cubs following their lone championship. If you’re doing it right, you’re goal should be to reload, not rebuild especially if you are one of major franchises. These aren’t the Royals or The A’s.

This is what I was worried was going to happen, so I'm relieved. At least SD is a team I wouldn't mind cheering for if not the Brewers. And some more competition for those Dodgers.

Yeah, Soto certainly would've helped in trying to close the gap with the Brewers. Same, I'm always good with cheering on the underdogs.

Here's to a fun NL Central race to the finish. 🍻

What a dumb move. Soto is a generational talent. You build around that, not trade it away. This along with Tatis Jr. getting ready to start playing again @Sonicpharmacist is gonna be dancing in the streets.
Hosmer hasn't approved the trade yet so Soto deal isn't quite 100% yet.

If I were him, I'd reject it.
Hell yeah baby! I figured that Soto would go to the Cards for sure! Now what to do with Hosmer…..

Another legend gone. 94 makes for a full life. I can't think of who would parallel being top-shelf in the sports world as he was for 65+ years.
Rest easy, Vin Scully.

Such an amazing talent. For Vin to be able call an entire baseball game solo while enrapturing listeners is no small feat.
