Baseball

This was the first Apple TV game I’ve watched this year. I actually like Katie Nolan on her own stuff. It was weird they just had that one dude talking about everything else in the league non stop for like 3 straight innings though. I turned it off shortly after that, but not due to the announcers. The Yanks have been putrid for weeks.

I knew they overperformed in the first half and expected a slump at some point, but not this bad. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the Jays catch them since they seem to have broken out of their mini slump while the Yanks just look lost.
Yeah Katie is good at what she does but unfortunately I don't think this is what she does. That whole booth team is a train wreck.

Yeah...I can't stand the Apple TV broadcasts. Hannah Keyser was the worst...I don't think she's on it anymore.

I'm also not a fan of any of the national broadcasts Apple, Peacock, Fox...as they just don't know the teams that well. They may know the highlights and have some stats on a piece of paper to read out, but give me the local announcers any day / every day. I wish the local TV teams would work the post season games, too.

Melanie Newman called the last Apple TV game I watched - and she did a much better job than whoever did the first game I watched....but she was talked over by Chris Young for most of the game about crap trivia that had nothing to do with the game.

ugh. Just saw that the Stl Cardinals game against the Dodgers is only on Apple TV.

Streaming doesn't bother me, as I stream from MLB.TV anyway, but I do hate Apple TV broadcasts....I pretty much hate any national broadcast, but Apple's is the worst.

There are people like my SO’s dad who’s been a Cards fan his whole life and I am certain would have watched the game tonight…If it wasn’t on a streaming service. I feel bad that older fans like him who missed out on history.
I will say, since the game was on the west coast chances are he would not have stayed up past 9:00 PM to watch it so he’d likely woulda missed it anyhow but still.

I do have to say that this Apple TV broadcast is the best I've seen so far.

A lot less random bullshit trivia about other games and players.

Chris Young isn't as annoying as he has been previously.

Still would have like to have had Danny Mac call #700 on Bally Sports Midwest.

I was also listening to John Rooney's call on KMOX, and that was good.

Had to drop in to say, my Guardians have been on an absolute roll. Youngest team in MLB (AAA too), bottom 5 payroll. Didn't matter, AL Central division winners running away. Best of all, the future is even brighter.

No huge expectations for a big run in the playoffs this year, but of course anything can happen.
Yeah, I wish Tito managed the White Sox instead of beating our ass all season long. FIRE TONY! Indeed. I have been a Sox fan for most of my life and this has been one of the most disheartening seasons I have ever experienced. I hate Cleveland but I am glad they beat the Sox ass this year. We got what deserved. I’ve switched over to The Mariners for the post season. They are a much more fun team to root for.

I don't agree with all of Tito's moves, but there is no doubting that he knows how to get the most out of a team. The Guardiac Kids just play with a relentlessness that keeps them in any game (along with their pitching).

Regarding the White Sox - injuries were a factor, but they strike me a group of stars that never quite coalesced as a team. Hard to blame you for the La Russa hate. I expect they will be back in contention with a new manager in 2023.

I'm also happy for the Mariners. I knew the good times were coming based on their prospect talent a couple of years ago, but much like Clevelend they seem to be arriving ahead of schedule.
