Wait, what?!
Really!? What makes you say that? Vocally it sounds nothing like Matt Berninger of the NationalThis new Black Country, New Road album is basically a National album
Musically it's VERY National-esque. Horns, strings, bells, drumming, but a little looser (see "Bread Song" and/or "Good Will Hunting" where it's basically two songs that could have appeared on Alligator). Vocals I beg to differ. He's got a similar baritone singing voice, a similar cadence and flow. It's a little bit like the emotion of Bright Eyes mixed with Matty B.Really!? What makes you say that? Musically maybe and thematically (an album drenched in pain) but that's where I draw the line on comparisons. I'm a big fan of Matt B.'s voice but Isaac Wood, or whatever the lead signer's name is, I find his voice to be quite irrating if I'm being honest.Musically it's VERY National-esque. it's very raw and trembly, hence the Bright Eyes comparison. I don't hate it though, it fits with the music.Musically maybe and thematically (an album drenched in pain) but that's where I draw the line on comparisons. Here's another great musical discovery courtesy of signer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Margaux Sauvé aka Ghostly Kisses she hails from Québec, Canada and finally released her long-awaited debut album last Friday and let me tell you it's absolutely stunning! Her voice is ethereal and hainting, and her brand of dreamy pop is both engrossing and spellbinding. A must listen
For fans Of Men I Trust and London Grammar.
EDIT: the more I listen to it the more it reminds me of Imogen Heap and Everything But The Girl.
Glad you're enjoying itOooh thanks for sharing I really like this.
