Best Music 🎶 of 2022!

So for fun I wanted to create a sort of "rubric" I could use to come up with scores for new albums I listen to. I decided to use a weighted system and these are the categories I came up with as a sort of rough draft:

Music - 50%
Lyrics - 25%
Emotion - 15%
Flow - 5%
Artwork - 5%

Do you guys think these are weighted fairly? Anything I should add? Take away? Change? Is this whole idea dumb? Obviously there's a lot of specifics that go into each category, and I'd probably adjust weights for certain genres (instrumental, obviously have to get rid of the lyrics). But this is just a fun idea I've been toying around with today as I listen to new stuff.

Really!? What makes you say that? Vocally it sounds nothing like Matt Berninger of the National 🤷‍♂️
Musically it's VERY National-esque. Horns, strings, bells, drumming, but a little looser (see "Bread Song" and/or "Good Will Hunting" where it's basically two songs that could have appeared on Alligator). Vocals I beg to differ. He's got a similar baritone singing voice, a similar cadence and flow. It's a little bit like the emotion of Bright Eyes mixed with Matty B.

Musically maybe and thematically (an album drenched in pain) but that's where I draw the line on comparisons. I'm a big fan of Matt B.'s voice but Isaac Wood, or whatever the lead signer's name is, I find his voice to be quite irrating if I'm being honest.

it's very raw and trembly, hence the Bright Eyes comparison. I don't hate it though, it fits with the music.

Here's another great musical discovery 👌 courtesy of signer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Margaux Sauvé aka Ghostly Kisses 💋 she hails from Québec, Canada 🇨🇦 and finally released her long-awaited debut album last Friday ❤️ and let me tell you it's absolutely stunning! Her voice is ethereal and hainting, and her brand of dreamy pop is both engrossing and spellbinding. A must listen 🎶

For fans Of Men I Trust and London Grammar.

EDIT: the more I listen to it the more it reminds me of Imogen Heap and Everything But The Girl.

Oooh thanks for sharing I really like this.
