Best Music đŸŽ¶ of 2024!

Honestly, I’m just here to read @Rip_City’s list and tell me how awesome the KLO album is.
There are several women associated with electronic music in my top25 this year, I promise you that.

both odd ball ex-punk/art pop music mom and proto-goth kawaii artsy daughter can listen to on their way to get boba and craft supplies.
Oh yeah, you're both ready for Harajuku (掟漿) đŸ”„

My phone absolutely despises and spits out any list sites when I try to read them. What is the deal?
I use Mozilla Firefox as my mobile web browser on my iPhone and the one thing I have figured out that helps (sometimes) is clicking this

It is some sort of reader mode that eliminates much of the graphics, photos and ads, leaving only the text behind which makes the site WAY more stable.

It also will sometimes allow me past a paywall if it’s a pop up type thing.

It doesn’t work on everything but I have found it immensely helpful in trying to scroll through long list style articles on my phone.

Reader mode may help in Safari with the Hayden one. Some like the rolling stone one (maybe) are formatted in such a way that you just get the intro and that’s it. Or some of them the number headings are formatted like a picture and it’s all just a meaningless text bomb in reader mode.

Correct. That is why I used words like “sometimes” and phrases such as “It doesn’t work on everything”.

I've only listened to 2 albums on that list and I don't think I even know who the vast majority of the rest of the list is....
That’s awesome. If you are up for exploration and enjoy indie and classic rock there is a bunch of excellent albums listed there to discover.

TBH, I prefer the list where I am unfamiliar with most to the albums to the ones where I know most of the albums. I mean it’s nice to have a bit of my stellar taste confirmed by a professional critic or music publication but for me the most fun part of year end list season is digging through all the shit I’ve overlooked during the past 11 months, see what I may have missed out on.

ya...this Nils Frahm live album is fire. the first half is ostensibly the shows I saw him perform in Berlin back in '22...the re-worked Right, Right, Right is a stunning track.

I figured I would post my list now as I really don’t see much changing over the next few weeks. Full disclosure, I’ve been dealing with employment bullshit for the entirety of 2024, so music took a backseat this year. I’m happy with my list, but, I know there is a lot that I missed in the last 11 months or so.

1. “Viva Hinds” - Hinds
2. “Passage Du Desir” - Johnny Blue Skies
3. “Songs of a Lost World” - The Cure
4. “All Born Screaming” - St. Vincent
5. “$10 Cowboy” - Charley Crockett
6. “Manning Fireworks” - MJ Lenderman
7. “Tigers Blood” - Waxahatchee
8. “Memory of a Day” - Phantogram
9. “Smoke & Fiction” - X
10. “Memoir of a Sparklemuffin” - Suki Waterhouse
11. “Nobody Loves You More” - Kim Deal
12. “Small Changes” - Michael Kiwanuka
13. “Bright Future” - Adrianne Lenker
14. “Cowboy Carter” - Beyonce
15. “No Name” - Jack White
16. “Little Rope” - Sleater-Kinney
17. “Lived Here For a While” - Good Looks
18. “Power” - illuminati hotties
19. “American Primitive” - Old 97’s
20. “Sugarcoat” - Blushing

Also, I did write ups for each of the albums on my list, but, admittedly
it’s A LOT for anyone to wade through. So I opted to just post the list version.
