Dave Matthews Band - Everyday

DMB released the song I Did It on Napster. They were the first major label artist to release music on the platform. Giving the finger to Metallica in the process.

The Beach Boys - Today!

Dennis Wilson was like the Ringo Starr of of The Beach Boys in that he was not in the same realm talent wise as his bandmates. That being said, unlike Ringo, Dennis was by far the coolest Beach Boy, he was the only Beach Boy that actually surfed, he partied with Charles Manson, and fucked Mike Love’s wife. Brian would even admit many years after his brother drowned, while reflecting back over his life that one of his best memories was binging cocaine Dennis.

Towards the end of his short life Dennis did develop as an artist releasing some truly beautiful work with the Beach and some incredible solo projects.

All that to say, Here is Dennis bashing his kit while singing lead on “Do You Wanna Dance” one of the best cuts off of Today!

Durand Jones & the Indications - American Love Call

For those of you who don’t know, Aaron Frazer is the drummer for the band and takes lead when the song requires a voice in a higher register.

Points: 15 + 5 (I’m old and I think this is the best way forward) = 20

Hank Pine & Lily Fawn – North America

Going digital for today because this has never been pressed on vinyl and my CD copy is currently in storage. Hank & Lily were an institution in Victoria during most of my 20's—a vaudville inspired duo with an amazing supporting cast, whose characters and albums were based on their adventures in their comic book series, drawn by Hank Pine (each album came with a new issue!). Lily Pine plays drums and sings while standing, in tap shoes: which are sometimes used for dance and sometimes percussion. She also plays musical saw. She is also half-human, half-deer!
