Day 23: 90s
Play something from the 90s

The Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty

I never felt cooler in 90s than when I was rockin’ some baggie carpenter jeans a pair of Puma Clydes, a Champion NBA replica jersey, and low tilted New Era cap. My Sony Discman (with skip protection) on full blast blaring a Beastie Boys CD. Good times.

Always happy to see @Yer Ol' Uncle D spinning Mirrorball! I was talking about Neil yesterday to a friend, about a show that I saw in '93. Neil was backed by Booker T. & The MG's, with Blind Melon and Stone Temple Pilots opening. Was a great show.

Anyway, Neil has always had great openers - a few of the other bands that opened for him on that '93 tour feature prominently on this soundtrack.

Day 21 - One Hit Wonders

Beck - Sea Change

I have always found it humorous that artists like Beck (and Lou Reed, XTC, and the Grateful Dead) are technically one hit wonders. Spinning perhaps my favorite Beck album, a generous PIF from @Jango that I guess is lesser known than Mellow Gold or Odelay, fitting the nature of this day's challenge.

“Loser” was his only Top 10 hit but he had a decent amount of other singles that charted (especially off of Odelay). I guess it depends on how “hit” is defined I suppose.

I can see why you put Beck under this category because most people know him for Loser but this in my top 5 albums and I subscribe to all things Beck so I don't feel that way. All his songs are hits to me!
