Definitive Audiophile pressings

Ordered a NM/VG OG Japanese copy of The Wall from a seller named Posse_Cut on Discogs, $43 for the record, $24 shipping, shipped on 9/14, received it today, and it looks stunning….not a blemish on the records, sleeves/jacket graded appropriately. Seller doesn’t have a lot of feedback, but my experience was fantastic. Cannot wait to play this!

Awesome! Share your impressions when you get a chance.

When people order from Ella, do you only order NM? Or has VG+ been acceptable? Haven’t ordered from them in awhile…

I try to get NM vinyl but the Sticky Fingers I got from them was VG+ and it was still better, by far, than most places that grade NM. I think it was graded VG+ for scuffs, but it essentially still played NM. But as always, every situation is different. I'm pretty sure they note it if there are scratches.

After a couple of listens, the Blue Trains are really close. I think I would give the edge to the mono. It just seems crisper overall. Of course, the stereo has a bigger soundstage and as I said Saturday, seems more playful. Anyone should be happy with either... Have not had a chance to read the book yet, but the extras are nice - for whatever reason, Jazz is a genre where I seem to dig having extras on vinyl.

The wife has not seemed irritated at all with the replays. She has even been walking around humming Moment's Notice.

Thanks, I have the Mono MMJ and I don't listen to it much so I'm good, but nice info for people on the fence .

My mono is out for delivery right now along with Ella & Louis Again (more excited for that haha)
i'm amped for both! both are on their way to me from udiscover and hopefully here in the next day or two.

i need to pick up another copy of the AS - Ella and Louis too because I ended up giving my copy to my brother to help start his record collection last week as part of a housewarming gift. Love that one and really amped for Ella & Louis Again too.

That fucking place. They offed another audiophile did they?

Very interested to hear your thoughts. What other copies do you have?
I've been on the look out for an affordable clean copy for awhile, but nothing I've ever really wanted to drop cash on. I was a bit nervous after my previous adventures with sealed Pink Floyd grails. I figured I wouldn't find another sealed copy again, so I bit on it.

Just got done cleaning and throwing it on my office system. Wow is first impression. Bottom end is tight and punches. My little REL Tzero is getting a workout. Noise floor is nil and instrument separation is fantastic. I'll throw it on the big system tonight with a bourbon in hand.

Only copies I have to compare to are a 2016 reissue and OG US Pitman pressing that is pretty beat that my Dad handed down to me. This certainly blows them out of the water.
