Definitive Audiophile pressings

So @OMC basically threw in the US 80 with a bunch of stuff I bought from him with the caveat that it was kinda beat up. I think I paid like $60 or something for it. But I'd heard that half speed series was the one to have so I went for it. So then I tried to get the 82 but it's REALLY hard to find a NM copy of the correct 82 pressing. So I ran into a NM/NM Canadian 80 with the 43453 runouts at a local for $140 all in. So I grabbed it in case I can't find a clean 82.

Is it the 434 or the 334 that has the corrected EQ? Would the Canadian with the 434 runout not be equivalent?

It's supposed to be the 43453 1982 jacket that also has 43453 in the runouts. But it's so hard to tell what's what. My Canadian and US sound different but I have no idea what the 434 Canadian runouts mean when my jacket is 334. But I wouldn't say the Canadian sounds any better than the US. Just different...

Nope your eyes do not deceive. It's odd. Runout matches this release. Also 1982.

Labels and spine match this one.

I see no such match for mine in discogs. Anyone care to offer a theory?
I had that same version and just sold it. There isn’t a match. It’s like a hybrid…. Is one side of the dead wax 43453 and one 33453?

The jacket shouldn't matter right? should just be what's on the deadwax that matters? in cases like this where albums were recut (and they slapped a sticker on old jackets to update the cat#) i imagine there were quite a few that had the wrong labels or wrong jackets.

It's true but my Canadian pressing variant also isn't present on Cogs. And it's got a unique deadwax to any of the US pressings and appears to use the 33454 plates as you can see that scratched out in the deadwax. Despite the fact that it's got 43453 on the labels and spine. It's just really hard to tell what's what with this one but good thing is both variants I have sound great so, no big issue....
