Definitive Audiophile pressings

How does the MOFI The Stranger stack up to an RL original?

According to SHF, the japanese 1st press of this one uses the US plates. Can't confirm it on Discogs though because nobody entered the matrix. Anyway, I can't imagine it being very expensive.

I'm not sure how many of these are still out there but @Plaid Room / Colemine has some copies of Chris Isaak's Heart Shaped World. It's a fantastic sounding pressing!

I second that. A really excellent pressing (from Furnace IIRC).

Cross-post from J-Jazz:
HMV.JP is repressing the Three Blind Mice series that sold out quickly earlier this year. I have all five of these, purchased when the exchange rate was less favorable (at least in the US), and they’re excellent. If you really, really care about the best quality and are ok w 45rpm, I think the Impex of Blow Up is a slight improvement over these Craftman, but it’s close. In fact, I sold my Impex Blow Up when these arrived bc I prefer 33rpm and the small difference didn’t matter to me.
Links to each pre-order. Not sure how many they’re pressing, but they went very fast the first time around.
Blow Up
Blue City
Midnight Sugar
Misty
Girl Talk

Yep they have stickers on the outer sleeves now too.

Side note: I think Mobile Infidelity is my favorite silly nickname from this whole dumb drama
LOL, hadn't read that one, but that's pretty funny. Honestly, I agree, this has all been kind of dumb, while I completely understand the obvious "problem" with all this, I think it's more the "Golden Ear" crowd being butt hurt and called out that's dragging it on, lol

Furnace does some really nice work! Been impressed with them overall
I think Furnace is just the US-version of Pallas. So if it is pressed at Furnace, you should expect high quality (in my experience)

Looks like Impex is playing it smart. Since mofi cornered the boomer dad music, they've decided to do us all a favor and go after the contemporary roc...uh...boomer mom market.
