Definitive Audiophile pressings

Welp, I've got good news and bad news.
Good news, those copies of the album are all possibly fine.
Bad news, you may need a new cart or you may need to clean your stylus or you may need to adjust your alignment.

I have no pops at the end of the first track on side D and I also have no distortion on the vocals on the final track. I hear the parts you're likely talking about, where he's really pushing the mic, but it's not distorting. So it sounds like for whatever reason your cart isn't tracking those passages properly.

BUUUT it is GZ so nothing would surprise me.. Maybe I got the one good copy out of a sea of garbage.
Thanks for looking into this! And sorry about the delay. Covid had me down for like 2 weeks.

What you are saying makes a lot of sense and would explain why this issue isn’t being widely reported. I had an issue with my last cart where sibilance was terrible on a particular record but no one else seemed to have the same issue, until I finally found another person who did and sure enough they had the same cart as I did. I haven’t run into any other issues with my newer cart but I can believe that is is the cause in one way or another.

The clicking issue on the first track of side d is only present on what I assume was a second pressing since Amazon was out of stock for months and then all of the sudden it was back and all of the copies I got had the issue. The two copies I received right when the record was released do not have that particular issue. but the distortion issue has been present on every copy. As it turns out the best copy which I ended up keeping, was the second copy I ordered from that initial batch when it just came out. Unfortunately i ordered a bunch more due to the distortion issue. Luckily all through Amazon so returning them was easy.

Anyway, I am finally content with the copy I have and I can put all of this behind me. Thanks again for your efforts and advice!

And @MikeH was asking if I definitely had the KG pressing which was a good question and the answer is yes KG all the way. Glad I didn’t have to deal with that element on top of the rest!

I'm listening to the Revolver 2022 stream right now. It's the CD quality stream so perhaps it will be improved upon by the high res but honestly the new mix is fantastic however I can't really imagine this is going to sound any different on vinyl vs digital streaming. The mix is great but fidelity wise it's pretty flat. I mean it's be expected I suppose but there's really not much in the way of extension on any of the instruments, pretty flat stage. My early JPs are more dynamic than what I'm hearing with this new mix. Again, perhaps in high res it'll be different, but I suspect not. But again, that being said, fantastic mix and it's a pleasure to listen to.

Anyone get that GSH Pieces Of A Man 2LP yet? My local has some copies and I’m itching to buy. I’ve got an OG, but would snatch this up if it’s a nice pressing. It’s one of my favorite albums.
i have mine on order from Dusty Groove. says it should be shipped soon. initial reviews on hoffman seem to be good but don't see anybody who has an OG to compare to.

I'm curious about comparing this box set LPs to the Mofi and Mono.

I gotta say, some of the reviews really made me laugh, the things that some picked apart were comical in my opinion, but hey, to each his own.
i'll probably grab the box mostly for the mono. would love to hear your thoughts on the mono in the box vs the mono that came out a few years ago. i have the moFi. crazy how much that one has gone up in value. i bought it for $70 a little over a year ago and cheapest is $250+ on discogs now.

I have the mono box that I'll be comparing it to, but, ya, looking forward to the "head to head" ;)
