Definitive Audiophile pressings

I haven't opened my Revolver box yet, but I will be soon.

To compare, I only have the mono box to compare to the mono in the new set, but from what I hear from various sources, they are the same.

For Stereo, I only have an original US Capitol, Los Angeles pressing and a 1983 Specialty reissue - one that has been my go-to play copy since I got it. To me, this one sounds incredible.

How does their ordering work? I have an order there too for the GSH but seems like an “if we have it” kind of thing. Never ordered from them before.
I have preordered from them in the past with mixed results. I ordered some of those Craftman japanese Three Blind Mice releases and they cancelled two of mine without explanation. But I also preordered the Ian Carr reissues and the Gil Scott Heron and both shipped. I think on preorders they don't charge until shipping (not 100% sure though as I forgot to check last time). They have good packaging and I like them overall as a shop!

@debar22 my GSH shipped this weekend so I can report back if you want on the quality when I get it. Initial reviews on Hoffman are promising though!

Mine did ship this weekend too! Very excited to compare this one with the 2014 reissue I have.

Thank you! They sold out this weekend, but I don’t think it’ll be too hard to find.

it is a UK import just FYI. I haven't seen it in many other shops in the US yet, although it did just come out. I believe they pressed 2,000 copies but may repress later.
It’s up on Amazon, so that was my gauge as far as easy availability. But if word of mouth is that it’s a great pressing, it’ll probably dry up quickly.

crosspost from represses/restocks thread:

Is that stone flower any good?

i really like it. some people say the ORG is better but i think the ORG is OOP and more expensive. i can try to give my SC pressing another listen this week if you'd like.

edit: i see some bad reviews on discogs but don't remember that being my experience with it. i'm not SUPER familiar with other copies or how it's meant to sound but I remember mine being solid.

Yeah just saw that too. I’ll probably skip. I have a perfect OG pressing and it sounds quite good. I might have to jump on the Zevon though.

So KG was apparently mistaken when he meant he cut 3 AAA Wipers records for Jackpot….

He meant The Meters 😳

I’m more of a meters man myself so I’m excited about the slip up!

Don’t blame him for not remembering—he cut something like 400 albums this year apparently!

Of course... I just couldn't help poking fun at the apparent lack of perfection, which could, you know, shatter ideals. ;)

I'm also more curious about Meters reissues than Wipers (but both are interesting).
