I was just looking at my Moondance… um side one is cut by Hoffman and side 2 by Boom Book on my copy. Like what the hell guys? Any idea if that’s AAA? (Not that I really care, my copy sounds pretty damn good)

That’s the AAA rhino press. In 2008 big Kev was still working with the tape slasher at ATM and they’re jointly credited on a few rhino masters around then. I think Astral Weeks and the 45 of Rumours are similar.

I knew they worked together just not real sure why Hoffman would stop halfway through and be like “Hey Kevin you got this right?”

I think hoff has pretty ropey, if any, engineering skills. Kev is doing the actual engineering part of the mastering in all of them. Hoff sort of made his name as a “golden ear” eq consultant. So kev is manning the desk on them all and the sides that have Hoff or both he was adding his eq thing to. That’s how I understand it anyway.
