Definitive Audiophile pressings

It really varies, we usually get the US but it's pretty much totally random. Some stores are more likely to get the EU, others not. Depends on the individual distributers and buyers.
I see. Yeah, I've only been to a couple record shops in Calgary years ago, and I was blown away with all the EU pressings they had in stock. Stuff that was hard to find in the US. The Canadian dollar was also kind of weak at the time, so I bought a lot.

You're right about Levi. A couple positive reviews popping up on Discogs already. @Mather
Pressed at Pallas for the European version. Wonder it is the same for US versions. I should probably just drop the $40 and buy it.

45 rpm edition:

Looks like the recent 33rpm reissue is still using this garbage:

I placed an order for it this morning... guess I'll know early next week.

For those that may be interested, the Pink Floyd WYWH SACD finally came back in stock at Acoustic Sounds. I've had it backordered for a bit, and it should be shipping this week or next. I've struggled finding PF albums with no surface noise, so have been turning to SACDs and MoFi CDs.

Welp, just got Vs. no identifying factors as to whether it's US or EU on the jacket or labels, but disc one was pressed at a different plant than disc two. First time I've seen that in a while. Disc two looks like Pallas, one could be anywhere. One is absolutely covered in no fill and debris and 2 is completely scratched all to hell and filthy. So I have no idea where this came from but I can tell you where it's going. Straight back to the store.

I feel partially responsible for this. Then again, you are cursed by the vinyl gods.

No no not your fault. I just had 3 flawless purchases in a row so I was bound for a doozy. Hopefully there is actually an EU and I just got some weird US version. But at this point I'll just bring this back and wait and see how it shakes out. Probably two of the worst pieces of vinyl I've seen in a while. Doesn't help that they're in picture sleeves rather than poly.

The one I have is marked Worldwide on cogs but appears to be optimal. It sounds great despite the trackable edge warp. Sorry you drew the short straw.

Spinning the red / blue indie version now. It sounds great, IMO, even better than my OG copy. The bass is pretty hefty, in a good way.

Yeah, I think I like this new pressing better than the original - I located one and I'm spinning now. This is more of a hot take than a proper a/b (I can do that a some later date). But I immediately hear that bottom end I was missing from my original pressing. Nothing jarring in any way so far either. Both records are flat as a pancake too.
