$60 for AP Pet Sounds isn’t tooooo bad

This is the way. There are also quite a few pressings people recommend here that aren’t crazy pricey. @Piratenovelist you can always ask for recommendations in pressings for bands/albums you like. Sometimes may be surprised at some of the great sounding options at under $30 for some good albums.

If i order via The In Groove, they for a fee sonic clean the record too.

Also the ones I want are not in stock there anymore. Regret not grabbing them when they were repressed…I have a handful and they are all great

I would love to add Today and Summer Days (and Summer Nights) both but those are going for dumb money on Discogs currently.

Beach Boys Party and Sunflower AP pressings are great too. Sunflower was in heavy rotation early this year.

I have an OG pressing that I had been good with but Sunflower is probably my favorite post-Pet Sounds Beach Boys album so I could see myself picking that up if I came across a copy at a fair price.

Yeah looks like the rights to the catalog expired for AP. Agreed wish I bought all of them really. I do have Pet Sounds mono and stereo and smiley smile stereo and they’re awesome!

They did two reissues right? I’ve only got the VMP but that one is $$ now.

I think they're all the same Mr Bongo, there's two Bongos and the VMP but pretty certain they're all the same plates.

I can look at the deadwax of the VMP tomorrow if ya want. I don’t remember there being anything referencing Mr Bongo on it though. Would be a little surprised if they used Mr Bongo’s plates from the late 90s without crediting them.

Bongo pressed it in 2014, then again in 2018, VMP was 2020. Pretty sure it's the same since there's no other pressings of it out there, be kinda surprised if VMP paid to get a new cut and then pressed only 500 and was done. But I suppose it's possible. No details on Cogs

Yeah, VMP has done some colored Mr. Bongo exclusives in the past. My guess would be they are the same but they’ve surprised me before.

Man that's surprising to me, interesting though. I'd do a shootout but I ain't spending $90 on the VMP to find out.
