Definitive Audiophile pressings

Yes, if that's: Matt@Metropolis

@Nee Lewman , also totally forgot this was a biovinyl release. Would have never noticed a difference if it wasnt called out. Looks, feels, and plays like a regular ol' record.
I’m encouraged that there is an alternate to traditional vinyl that seems to sound good. Seems like the last few things Aphex Twin has put out were on biovinyl and people like it. Unfortunately, a lot of people think it is ecovinyl which is different.

Eco Mix Vinyl is usually ok too. That’s recently seemed to be just using the leftover vinyl pellets from other records and mixing them all together, shouldn’t have an effect on the sound. It’s recycled, where bits of label can sometimes float in, that I’m weary of.

It’s interesting — I A/B the VMP Doors and and the AP 45 and felt like the 45 beat it in every way. Actually made me pause on ordering the UHQR of LA Woman at 33 vs the Doug Sax 45… and I’m really no fan of 45 format. Be curious on this one…

There are so many good sounding pressings of this for like $10-$20 out there, what's the selling point of the MoFI?

I think so. Same as with the ZZ Top box.

But the ZZ Top box was in between the bimonthly schedule. It was noted at the time that after the July two-title release there was to be a “special” release in August and that Rhino would then return to the two-title schedule in September.

So the existence of this new box set doesn’t necessarily predict one way or the other the fate of the “regular” two-title release schedule.

Sure, but there's no release this month and I somewhat doubt that there will be this box and two more releases in November. It could happen, just seems unlikely.

I just went back and listened to the end of the Sept Westman video.
I never ended up watching it previously.
Anyway, the Rhino guy said two releases in Nov.

I don't think the Detroit live album is RHF.
Possibly one more rock title announcement for next month around Halloween timeframe is what I picked up.

Just picked up the new break out pressing of Neil Young "Weld". Shit has gone straight downhill since he sold his rights. $87, barebones jacket, PAPER SLEEVES. Discs are absolutely filthy and scratched to high heaven. Will wait to clean to see if its okay but I seriously doubt it with the amount of damage. It should be illegal to sell a record for $87 and use paper sleeves, punishable by being placed into a cannon and shot directly into Third Man Records.
