I’m encouraged that there is an alternate to traditional vinyl that seems to sound good. Seems like the last few things Aphex Twin has put out were on biovinyl and people like it. Unfortunately, a lot of people think it is ecovinyl which is different.

Bio vinyl is chemically identical to any other PVC. The ethylene is just extracted from used cooking oil rather than fresh petroleum.

Eco Mix Vinyl is usually ok too. That’s recently seemed to be just using the leftover vinyl pellets from other records and mixing them all together, shouldn’t have an effect on the sound. It’s recycled, where bits of label can sometimes float in, that I’m weary of.
