I've got it, it's worth it.All this love for Mayfield’s Roots makes think I should just bite the bullet and grab the box set. 4 albums all cut by Chris Bellman for under $80 seems like it’d be worth it.

Wow.
My local had a copy of Live in the “new arrivals” bin earlier this week. I almost picked it up.Great boxset, just a shame it is missing Curtis Live and/or America Today
wait, tell me more........I should NOT have put a scan on AS's Cogs page.
Page Monitorwait, tell me more
thank you!
America Today is the Kevin Gray cut. People have said Roots sounds great too though! Aretha Young Gifted and Black is the other really nice sounding one from that series that I grabbed.was the Rhino press of Curtis' Roots the one that was getting the praise round here recently?
I use Distill. AS's discogs is very very strange the past week hah. I think we briefly spoke about it, but they are posting lots of great stuff. Some prices are insanely high. Others are really reasonable. They had the AP of Mingus x5 up for $50 i think which is a great price considering it's likely OOP. They had a lot of other good stuff too.
I believe I also saw that the new one is AAA and the 2017 is digital. But not 100% sure. There's no pressing info so I have no idea if it's the same one. I did see one person on cogs saying the yellow sounded better but it's cogs so take that with a grain of salt...
I'll have to check out Distill and ya, we were talking about the quite random price choices on their Cogs page, lolI use Distill. AS's discogs is very very strange the past week hah. It certainly sounds AAA. To be honest this is probably about as close to a AP quality Coldplay album you can get.I believe I also saw that the new one is AAA and the 2017 is digital. But not 100% sure.
I lied. the deadwax is the same between the two so they are probably similar and just boils down to where each was pressed between that 2017 and this one. It does sound really solid, but I can only speak to the yellow pressing! I think its one of those albums that was just really well made.It certainly sounds AAA. To be honest this is probably about as close to a AP quality Coldplay album you can get.

That’s kinda why I didn’t pick up the copy they had. It was a red wax reissue and the Discogs info was pretty bare bones for the entry.Love that album! I sadly don't have it on vinyl but it's the album of his that I've returned to the most over the years. What's the pressing info on the current reissues?
From what I can recall I think the MOV might be the best available pressing...That’s kinda why I didn’t pick up the copy they had. It was a red wax reissue and the Discogs info was pretty bare bones for the entry.
