Definitive Audiophile pressings

All this love for Mayfield’s Roots makes think I should just bite the bullet and grab the box set. 4 albums all cut by Chris Bellman for under $80 seems like it’d be worth it.
Get it! All four are great albums. I already have original copies of all of them but I’ve still kept eyeing that boxset over the past year.

Just ordered the Intervention Records version of Matthew Sweet’s Girlfriend. Super excited to get it. But how in the world did I not know that Richard Lloyd and Robert Quine were the lead guitarists in that band? No wonder why I always liked the sound of that record.

Anyone have any experience with production/sound quality from WRWTFWW (We Release Whatever the Fuck We Want records)?

I'll take any input, but I'm specifically interested in Somei Satoh -- Mandala Trilogy, Somei Satoh – Mandala Trilogy + 1 (Vinyl). Looks very promising based on this info, but there are no reviews on Discogs or Amazon. Thanks.

I only have 2 of their releases

Midori Takada ‎– Through The Looking Glass 2x 45 RPM

and

Pierre Barouh ‎– Le Pollen

Through The Looking Glass was pressed at Optimal, and sounds great to me, but it seems some on the Discogs comments have issues.

There is no pressing plant info on Le Pollen, but both were cut at Emil Berliner Studios. These are the only release I have that were cut at this facility, but I have no issues with either.

The release that I was supposed to get but received Pierre Barouh instead should be here in a few days -

Coming Soon From Empire Pictures International (Empire Movie Trailers 1983 - 1989)

The runout info isn't on Discogs, but I'll add it if it's still missing by the time I get it.

Haven't seen this one posted before, but another recent KG cut. Looks cheap enough in America. to be worth a punt.

Yah its just hard to get it when in the US you can get this original album in decent shape for less than $5 at like 80% of all record stores.

I’ve got all of the IR Sweet studio albums and both FBB albums. I have nothing but good things to say about IR.

Those pressings are really nice! Glad they released the albums individually since a lot of people missed out on the box set.
My wife is the big Chet fan and I told her to order the box set but she declined as she already has New York and Happen To You. She ordered the other 2 but I used KG to convince her to rebuy those 😁.

Also the price differential depending on where you were buying them from is crazy.

Yea with a lot of albums now, the MSRP and what you can get them for in sales is an insane difference haha. I’ve gotten Tone Poets for as cheap as $18 when their list price is usually $35.

I think I got the Chet box in a Buy 2 Get One free sale awhile back and was pretty amazed at how good they sounded. Then I saw those sweet sweet initials in the deadwax and it all made sense
