And....How was your experience with Jump into the Fire? Did it fully meet your wants and needsIt sounds incredible. Massive sound, as wide as my room. Other than that little tape warble it's unreal.

My only complaint was that I couldn't turn it up louder because my wife was sleeping. It sounded fantastic. I'd say that's one of the more dynamic Mofi 45s I've heard. I think part of the size of the sounds comes down to his vocal mic on a bunch of the tracks where it's not mixed centre, but rather left and right stereo so it fills the whole room with his voice.And....How was your experience with Jump into the Fire? @jamieanderson1968 is the expert on Bowie releases. I've been happy with the current reissues but I don't have anything to compare them to.I’m thinking about starting to dip my ties into the Bowie releases...are the newer releases worth getting sound wise or do you recommend other releases?
The new St Vincent is a Chris Bellman cut and pressed at Pallas. It sounds really great and made a better impression on me playing it on vinyl compared to the stream.

Damn thats a hell of a review. Cant wait for them to ship out!High praise for the new UHQR Kind Of Blue.
The Best Ever Kind of Blue?
Is it possible to now write anything that hasn’t already been written or said about this record? I haven’t any fresh insights to offer that might advance what you probably already know. A good Kind of Blue pressing puts you in the 30th Street studio to hear the performance. Ashley Kahn’s “Kind...www.analogplanet.com

It's such a fun album and you can really tell why he was the Beatles favorite American songwriter.

My take is a bit different. Definitely sounds great, but a bit like it's right on the verge of clipping (might have been to your advantage that you couldn't turn it up!), and flirting with some sibilance, which I noticed most on 'Without You.' I don't doubt that this is as good as it can sound, and the vocals are in the room.My only complaint was that I couldn't turn it up louder because my wife was sleeping. It sounded fantastic. Yes the recent reissues (starting with the 2016 boxset) are all uniformly excellent. I think most are AAA.The newer releases are great and not expensive. @jamieanderson1968 can confirm, but I think many were AAA too. Definitely a great place to start.
Urghhh brilliant. Yeah I ordered direct.Did you order from Acoustic Sounds? I've still got an order on hold from January with them while they become Brexit ready. I ended up ordering a copy of this from Music Direct, I'm not convinced I'll get it for some time.
Yes I agree with that to a degree but I kinda just assumed that's the OG recording coming through. It's dynamic but the fidelity isn't crystal clear, but I just put that down to the sound of the album, it wasn't glaring to me. But that's in line with something like Electric Warrior which is also dynamic AF but it's got a fair share of sibilance. From what I've read the "edginess" of the sound on the Nilsson album is pretty much just down to the original recording. But again, no personal knowledge of that...My take is a bit different. I still can't decide whether I like the KPG or the Mofi 45 Electric Warrior better. But even with the sibilance I lean towards the 45 simply because of the wider stage and more punchy dynamic sound. I'm a sucker for that stuff. If the album already has some roughness to it, and it's never going to sound perfect (like EW) then gimme the big sound and the punchy dynamics all day even if it includes some sibilance...Yes, agreed, and Electric Warrior is a great comparison. It's not glaring, it's just there.

Yup. Sounds great thoughI just got the Speakers’ Corner pressing of The Shape Of Jazz To Come from Acoustic Sounds, and the labels are reversed. Anyone else have this issue?
