Definitive Audiophile pressings

Yeah Blood on the Tracks is exceptional. Others may be slightly better but that’s kinda pointless if I don’t like the music on them or don’t like it enough to warrant that outlay. I think the only one I half regret not getting as my second was What’s Going On? But then equally I can rationalise not getting it. I’m trying not be quite so harshly critical of stuff others may like, less so mofi’s exceptionally narrow curatorial focus, but I think the group can tell where I fall with this one.
Boom Boom’s doing a cut of What’s Going On by the way. Not sure when it comes out but something to keep an eye on! Depending on how that press is I may sell my One Step. The flow of the album is a bit interrupted for me on the 45

Man I’d jump all over a KG cut. I don’t think I could listen to this as a 45, it’s definitely an album where the flow is part of the listening experience. I’ve got this version, but I can’t remember the last time I listened to it, which needs to be remedied

yeah I can also see that with this one on 45. It’s why I got the AP 33 of Pet Sounds, severing the sides of that one for 45 seems borderline criminal to me.

Yea Joe Harley posted a pic of the master tapes on Instagram and said something about how the albums message is still as relevant as it was 50 years ago and mentioned in the comments that KG was working on a “complete cut”

Hard to say. I would have thought for sure they sold 6000 pretty quickly, but I doubt they sold 25k already. Of course I could be completely wrong, it’s getting a ton of hype.
I just ordered a copy Tuesday night and got the shipping notice today. Given they only had 6k ready to ship, I'm guessing its just the first 6k that's sold out.

I would've guessed they would have left it open to buy still, just with a caveat they still need to be pressed, and it might be X weeks until the next batch ships, etc. Just them fomenting FOMO?

Probably pushing FOMO and also they changed their policy to not allowing backorders I believe. I have a feeling they don't want to deal with people backordering tons of stuff anymore.

I ordered on the day of release, and my order status says “in progress”.

That's so annoying. They did that to me with the Mingus One Step that I had had on pre-order for about 6 months.

seems music direct are sold out which is a pity, I was going to bundle with the Tom Petty album that’s extinct in Europe. MCRU or into the twilight zone...

I keep in thinking I should look into some of the Tom Petty albums, I don't have any and don't really know them.

I got my copy from the Twilight Zone, so he does have them in stock. I think the price is quite high though, I paid around £57 in September. & MCRU seems really expensive at the minute, I was going to get Oh Mercy from them but they upped the price to £80 & couldn't convince myself.

I don't understand why the prices are going up in the UK with the exchange rate so good. We should set up a Needles & Grooves European record distribution club & import them ourselves.
