Just had a chat with Fred and it turns out that they have had issues with Pallas recently and the Billy Harper will be the last one pressed there.Just wanna say that Fred from Sam Records is the bees knees. Replaced a scratched/no-fill record i bought from his store but also replaced one i got from Jazz Messengers even though i only asked if a repress was coming so i didn't have to buy from Discogs, and at no extra charge.
Same. BTW, a bit pissed that you don't get free shipping for pre-orders at AS.Sadly, mine is still “in progress”

Doing a quick compare between my Mofi 45rpm set and the UHQR. A few things are immediately apparent to me.It's arrived. Won't have a chance to listen until tonight, but the packaging sure is top notch.View attachment 100245View attachment 100244View attachment 100243View attachment 100242View attachment 100241View attachment 100240
Still no shipping notice here but super pumped. Glad you like yours! Surprised on the wide soundstage with the 33 - I also have the 45 and would have expected that to be the one plus.Doing a quick compare between my Mofi 45rpm set and the UHQR. A few things are immediately apparent to me.
Despite the fact the UHQR is 33rpm, it presents an objectively wider soundstage than the Mofi. I thought for sure the Mofi would win that battle since its 45rpm.
A minor difference, but on "So What", the ride cymbal is much more prominent on the UHQR - very up front, and more specifically placed.
The UHQR is less obviously sibilant. It's still there, as its baked into the master tape, but it's less noticeabley less prominent vs the Mofi.
The UHQR just sounds better all around. I honestly have never been particularly satisfied with the Mofi. It's pretty sibilant to my ears, and the chopped up nature of the 45rpm kinda kills the vibe. I think for anyone debating the Mofi vs the UHQR, the UHQR is worth the extra money.
I'm very interested to hear everyone else's thoughts...
