Definitive Audiophile pressings

-sigh-

Well... I'm going to need to remortgage the house. I hope one of you are prepared to explain this to my wife.

DON'T MOFI AND DRINK
Your wife would absolutely cherish your passion for music and audio fidelity! I’m sure she fell in love with you even more that one time you listened to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon in really high quality and cried!

Did I do that? I mean I may have... although I don't actually recall doing that. However I don't recall doing a lot of things so perhaps yes...

Oh also, does this One Step actually come with the album jacket? I know some of the others don't. I believe it does yes?

Yeah! In that boutique awesome AirBNB you stayed at! I'm not sure if your wife was there with you at that AirBNB though! But it was the 'ah ha!' moment when you listened to an album you love on an amazing sound system!

No, it doesn’t unfortunately but what it does come with is the album jacket artwork that MoFi used for a previous MoFi pressing. The other side of that ‘print’ contains what looks like the back-cover of the album! Here is what it looks like:9595C601-9F69-4834-8B36-14FEA18DAEF2.jpeg82D293BA-6E09-49B2-8C31-7E5F76052126.jpeg

Ohhhhhhh, yes I'm sorry. On the FLAC system in Montreal along with Nirvana Unplugged. On the ridiculous Sonos Faber Olympica II speakers... I'm sorry, you're correct I was thinking at my house... YES. My wife knows I'm crazy so it's cool. But I just ordered 3 Mofis so when they arrive I have to HIDE THEM AND MYSELF, BEFORE THE EYE OF SAURON IS UPON US

Hope she doesn't see it and enquire about it! Although I'm sure you're responsible overall with your vinyl purchases!

If it makes you feel a bit more relieved, I spent AUD$20,000 in under 10 weeks after I got my retirement fund money, predominately on vinyl! I'm moving out of home very soon and I have just over AUD$2,000 and me and my housemate havent got a sofa, TV, couch, fridge etc yet. We only have all the kitchen utensils and cookware.

I'll be bringing my single bed with me. If i was responsible with my money, I would've been purchasing a double bed with a quality doona. I can't afford that but that's totally fine with me. I am still very happy and love my music and food and my housemate can't wait to cook with me whilst we spin vinyl and cook some delicious food! 🙊🍪🌮🥘🍔🫕🍜🍛🍳

Jesus H Flaming Christ On A Pogo Stick.

I...

You...

-rubs face-

I sincerely hope that does not come back to haunt you.
Maybe it will but oh well, I'm already fortunate with what I have and with what I've experienced and I feel very grateful to have such a strong passion for food and music. I think for that reason, I'll generally always be very happy thankfully, regardless of how I'm going financially.

But seriously, it already haunted me because I did hard rubbish collecting and container unloading in the last 3 weeks. It has already had a negative impact on my health and I hate how rough and tough and heavy the work I am getting is. I'm only doing these jobs because I'm a little desperate for money and am just saying 'yes' to any work that comes at me (as i need lots of money ASAP)!

I really don't want to do container unloading again in particular, but I guess the cool thing is that I always meet new people and learn a bit about them! I met this 18 year old guy who was so motivated for his future and who was very ambitious! It gave me life listening to him and what he hopes to achieve in the future! I loved it!

Also, in the same container unloading place i was working at, an ex-army guy who had the best body I have ever seen (ripped and very athletic at the same time without taking any steroids or drugs), was so inspirational for me! He just looked amazing and it made me want to get a good body again. So I like moving around workplaces all the time even though it's unstable!

I've definitely learnt my lesson though with my spending habits and vinyl. I'm very responsible now with my money as I've had a wake-up call with having to save up to move out of home! So, in the end, the ridiculous spending has haunted me in a good way!

I don’t think any of them come with the actual album jacket but just the print as @NathanRicaud shared. They do have sleeves but they are mostly black with a smaller version of the album cover like this (not my pic):

Then they come with the print of the cover as well. I have actually just taken all of the One Steps out of their boxes and put the albums into outer sleeves with the print in front. The packaging is nice but as with most box sets, I find if they aren’t in my stacks, I don’t reach for those albums as much.

I’d say go for the Mingus now while you still can get it at MSRP. I regret passing on the Bill Evans when I had the chance. Mingus is a popular title too so I think that one will more than hold it’s value. I think Mingus and Dylan are the two best sounding ones so far of the 5 I own.

Brother.... I just bought the Mingus One Step, Dire Straits ST 45 Mofi and Surrealistic Pillow 45 Mofi. And now I have to find a new place to live. Preferably on another continent, because my wife is going to END ME.

Awwww are you actually being serious with that last line? I hope everything goes alright between you and your wife. I hope you guys are both getting along really well at the moment! 🥰🤞

Anyone else super stoked for the Sarah Vaughn and Study in Brown from the AS series this month? I passed on the Nina and the Ballads and have been clamoring for these releases 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. from them!

I think they both got delayed until January 8, but I have been anxiously awaiting these for months. Keep getting delayed, but they are great sounding sessions that I can't wait to finally be able to spin.

Ooh the Surrealistic Pillow MoFi sounds so good. I think that is the one MoFi that is the greatest mastering improvement upon any other recording of an album that I have heard.
