Ah, my mistake. I've always thought changing the cover art like that was pretty tacky but I guess they like sticking to the tradition at this point. Doesn't keep from buying them at least.

The Japanese market is quite fanatical about reproducing exactly, right down to minor details. They would not tolerate a banner disrupting a sleeve, but would purchase a non- domestic product with such a banner, as in their view, that is a new issue separate from the original.
BTW, the MOFI transfer is from DSD256 files transcribed from the original tapes by the original Japanese mastering engineer.
And no missing photos.

The SRV One Step actually includes the Mingus photos instead. You have to buy every box set to mix and match.

It's funny, from what I've seen some 1 Steps come with photos, some don't. Not sure why there's a discrepancy. Looks like SRV does not. I don't think...

I don't believe the Dylan came with them but I think Monk and Mingus did. I think Marvin Gaye has one print with it and instead of the album one sheet cover print, it's a gatefold one. They don't really seem to have any consistency. The prints don't really do anything for me...I only keep them in case I end up selling these One Steps in a few years or something.

The ONLY reason I cared about the photos was that I paid for a full set. And without them if I did sell down the line now I have an incomplete set. But honestly I will likely never sell it anyhow. But it's the principle.
There might be an amazing VMP drop tomorrow which you might want to grab instead!!!

Yea just noticed it on the MD website:
My guess is not until early spring. SRV is starting to ship now to people who ordered from MoFi and MD directly. Then it will get shipped to wholesale buyers like record stores and that’s only the first half of the pressings or so.

So just a final update, last night Mofi/Music Direct sent me my confirmation of both replacement discs and the missing photos. So huge kudos to both everyone that flooded their Instagram page in my defense, and also the Mofi InstaRep who fixed the issue in like less than 24 hours. Definitely restored some of my faith in Mofi in terms of CS support.

To tell you the truth I'm not really sure. I don't even know if they'll actually ship these replacements, I'm not totally confident until I actually see a shipping confirmation. I think they just have replacements in stock but I'm not sure...

This evening, I cleaned and played for the first time two recently acquired Mofi grails.
I’m in what I think is a tiny minority who thinks “Lifes Rich Pageant” is REM’s best album, and I took a chance on an eBay splurge. Thankfully, the condition was accurately described, and it’s fantastic. (This is in stark contrast to my other recent eBay-Mofi splurge, Yes “Close to the Edge,” which was not remotely accurately described. Thankfully the seller immediately accepted a return/refund; the vinyl looked very clean but, sadly, was a surface noise and popping festival despite being cleaned before I played it)
Mofi “Kind of Blue” speaks for itself and doesn’t disappoint. I know some prefer other pressings, but this is fantastic. I suppose I’d consider selling this if a UHQR comes out, but I won’t feel compelled given how nice this is.

I have a question regarding the KOB MoFi box. I got mine a few days ago from the recent repress. Number is 18000 something. Do people know if that number includes previous pressings or is it just from that recent repress? It seems to be awaiting another repress already, so I’m wondering if they managed to sell out 18000+ copies in just a few days or if they just pressed a few 1000 and added that number to the previous ones.

I believe it includes previous pressings. My box is like 15,000 something and I got mine at the tail end of the last time it was available at retail.

There's no way they sold 18,000 in the past week. The numbers are from every box ever sold of it. It's still not OOP although I suspect it will be when the UHQR comes out.
