Definitive Audiophile pressings

Just bought the AP Ella & Louis 45, so damn excited to hear it in all of its glory. On another note my fiance just said

"I don't want to have to deal with the drama that would come along with me buying you bad pressings for your Christmas gifts, so heres $200, go crazy" :ROFLMAO:

So back to Acoustic Sounds I go lmfao. Thinking of finally grabbing LA Woman, what are everyone's favorite AP pressings?

@Ghost opens present from his fiancee. His smile turns awkward. "Thanks babe but....this doesn't say it's cut from the original master tapes..."

I keep a discogs wantlist just so my partner has a place she can refer to to get stuff i want and don't have. Its especially fun because I often wantlist stuff and then forget about it, then I open a present and go, "oh shit! This is that CW Stoneking first album I was looking for three years ago!"

That’s honestly the best course of action. I can’t fly home for Christmas so my parents shipped me some books and records. I put who are you by Joel Ross, and ended up with who are you by....the Who. Needless to say I was kind of disappointed (that record is not great, my better half said we don’t have to listen to it again). Now I need to grab that Joel Ross!

Just reminded me that I need to pick up that CW Stoneking record that I've been meaning to grab for 3 years.

That's a nice idea. I need to go back through my wantlist and get clean it out. I'm really bad at putting a few different pressings of albums on my wantlist and then when I get one copy, I don't remove all the others.

I second Dave Brubeck, Muddy Waters and Freddie King. My Doors albums are in USPS limbo atm 🙁

Either Freddie King really, Texas Cannonball is great too. I have almost all the AP 45 Doors but the standouts for me are definitely LA Woman and a Morrison Hotel. Don't have Waiting For The Sun or The Soft Parade however.

Thanks for all the recommendations friends! Definitely swiping LA Woman and already have some that have been recommended here. Trying to decide on Headhunters atm! Is the 45RPM 1 song per side? If thats the case I will probably just wait for the 33RPM to come back in stock. Will probably just wait for the Blue Note classics reissue of Idle Moments as well. Leaning heavy towards picking up Oscar Peterson's We Get Requests, so many options ooooooo

Legrand Jazz, Ella’s Let No Man Write My Epitaph, and Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges Back to Back are now creeping into the rear view 😭

listening to AP LA Woman right now... it's sublime.

The AP 45 of Jazz Samba and AP 33 of Seven Steps to Heaven stand out to me as two of the absolutely best sounding records I own period. Those just blow people away when I use them to demo my system.

EDIT: The AP Head Hunters is in that league too I would say. Amazing pressing.
Yeah I have a lot of 45s and honestly that 33 HeadHunters is one of probably 3 or 4 reference records I reach for when people are over. It's that good.
