I think the Counting Crows album is much better than Train. But maybe it's the nostalgia talking...owned it on CD when I was a kid. I can't stand Train at all.

Crows on Nickelodeon’s U Pick Live is major nostalgia for me, so much so that I didn’t even realize “August…” came out in 1993. Figured it was around 2000/2002.

The sad fact is because of my age, lack of cool older siblings or cool parents; I was aware of the Rod Stewart version first which pretty much destroyed almost all enjoyment of the original for me when aI first began listening to Waits.

TBH, the same thing happened with The Beach Boys “Forever” god damn Jesse &The Rippers (of Full House fame) almost ruined that song for me too.

I still think the Goo Goo Dolls + Limp Bizkit Pink Floyd cover is the worst. It's nearly untouchable for me as worst cover of all time. Pretty sure they even wrote their own verse for it.

Just calling in after a manic two weeks of imploding cars, new cars and seeing family to say that I’m finally getting around to spinning the last batch I got from Japan and they’re as brilliant as the previous 3.

The MOR and Jazz audiophile talk can now resume.

P.S. We were slagging MoFi Train last year but are lauding Counting Crowes AP now? Aren’t they essentially the same nonsense?
