Yep! I thought I remember reading that they were afraid people would think you wouldn’t be able to play the mono record with a stereo setup, so they kept stereo on the jacket/labels even though it was the mono version.

Immediately upon receiving I could barely contain my excitement. Tearing through the shipping box and carefully slicing the shrink wrap revealed a Mather-esque warp. Noooooooo! After a few moments of self-reflection on my life choices and contemplation if I wanted to soldier on with this stupid hobby, "no problem I'll just Vinyl Flat it"....

...90 minute timer like I have done countless times...@#$!!! melted the crap out of it.

Oh my god dude.
It's... it's finally happened... I never thought this day would come... But... but finally the curse has been lifted. The incredibly expensive shaman I hired from the Craigslist personals section who assured me that he was totally legit and definitely not a gigalo named Doug posing as a shaman has done it! I was initially a little concerned he was bullshitting me, first when he demanded my social insurance number and second when he had me sign over the deed to the house and take an STD test but dagnabbit Doug AKA Laughing Hyena has done it! I'm very sorry that my vinyl curse has been passed on to you, I didn't mean for it to happen this way. But I'm very happy to know that the mispressed, warped TVOTR vinyl that was inexplicably missing an entire track that I received yesterday is the last fucked up record I will ever have to worry about purchasing because as of todays melting of your DSOTM whale you are now.... officially cu-uursssd wait... what's the date on that DSOTM fuck up? FEBRUARY TWENTY SEVENTH?!

GOD DAMMIT DOUG!

I haven't followed this as I gave up on VMP long ago, but is the thinking it's just them getting an exclusive or will it get a wider release? I've been wanting Spirit In The Dark for more than 5 years but it's the only one of hers I never find out in the wild...

Seems limited (to 5,000 copies). No clue if it will come out elsewhere. It’s a mono cut but not AAA
 
That’s amazing. I’ve been buying LPs since they were $2.87 each and gasoline was $.19 a gallon so yeah I’m old. But in all those years I’ve never seen records delivered in that condition. For the prices the companies are commanding that’s just simply wrong. Good luck getting things swapped out.

That's completely crazy. All of the records in my copy were clean, for whatever it's worth. But I got it a year and a half ago.

Sade box set came in today, every record arrived in this condition. Records are inside either a paper or cardboard sleeve. Paper scuff marks on all of them unfortunately.

Geez! Where did you order this from? I got mine from Target a few months ago and despite some slight warps on one or two, they were very clean. They aren't in poly inners which is annoying though...they are in those printed inners that i hate.

...and running some parallel negative control experiments by throwing in some sandpaper in the mix. Conclusions: Humminguru cleans cat litter, does not clean sandpaper scuffs.

Probably just a preference of the music on it! And pretty sure the BoomBoom is AAA. It’s also QRP/Stoughton jacket. Not sure about the comp but most comps these days aren’t AAA.
