Definitive Audiophile pressings

I don't know about you....but all my favorite albums contain "peppy jazz-rock architecture marked by exuberant horns, lilting piano lines, and splashing rhythms".
Too funny. Yeah, that's the thing - aren't all records like that? So what's different about Groovin?

Jazz Dispensary are running a comp to win their 5 Prestige records from the collaboration they had with VMP. Its a great set and they sound fantastic.

On a side note, they mention a fresh batch coming later in the year. Could be with VMP, or stand-alone.

Obviously you guys need to broaden ur musical tastes a bit with a little more respect for the those earlier music pioneers.

In that end and considering that the pandemic is easing maybe you should consider a music cruise so u could immerse yourselves in a little culture….

Nothing says flower power like a bunch of senior citizens with white suits and fedoras playing their dang rock n roll instruments!

I’m old and it is a little embarrassing at times. But, to each their own. Less time to watch FoxNews if ur cruising the high seas. :).

I agree that some of the MoFi picks are questionable given the limited amount of stuff they have in stock. Everyone has their old favorites I guess so all good. Just a lot of other stuff needs a good pressing.

Hey man, it's all good I'm just kidding. I just think maybe if we're going to be putting out very expensive audiophile records, perhaps Mofi could start looking at something from the past 3 decades of music that could be in need. I feel like KPG has this one covered.

I suppose we are also getting a vinyl edition of this one?

Yea--this as a vinyl reissue has been rumored for a bit now. I wish they did Elvis in Memphis as a regular MoFi since that album rules...but will probably just stick with my SC pressing over the One Step.

They are really hitting the retirement homes hard now. Blue Hawaii, really cheesy. But I think their hype hits it - they are going for the people who are longing for the good old days of the late 50's/early 60's. Which werent actually all that carefree or innocent at the time.

Elvis in Memphis, though - different story. That is one ass-kicking great record. I have the SC which is excellent, and also have the recent RSD 2LP American Sound 1969, which is basically Elvis in Memphis + without overdubs - and better for it.

yea--I'm not a huge Elvis fan at all, but Elvis in Memphis is a really awesome album. I'll have to check out that RSD album--thanks!
