Definitive Audiophile pressings

Quiet Kenny wasn’t too tough to find over here if you were looking for it right when online sales opened up. I wasn’t even planning on picking it up initially but grabbed it from Luna Records when I ordered a copy of the Jonathan Richman release. I think it did go pretty fast but I think if it’s a big want and you’re on the ball, I think the Art Pepper will be able to be had….

That being said, I plan on getting up at 3:00 AM Saturday morning and getting in line early at my local. There is nothing on the my list that I couldn’t live without but I am a weirdo who enjoys conversating with other music obsessed weirdos for a few hours prior to the store opening so I shouldn’t have any issues getting everything on my list.

Almost tempted to make the drive down to Hi-Voltage this year. I've been hitting up Silver Platters by me the last few...leaves much to be desired compared. Also, last one I was sandwiched in line between two flippers that just wanted to grab one of everything.

Got a couple copies and both have pops on Songbird. Wonder if there is a bad batch or just an issue with this repress.

Also the version available on Walmart for $40 is the KG/SH 45 if anyone is still looking. Got my second copy there.
The Walmarts has the 45 Fleetwood??

They could not be any worse with the descriptions...

If you enjoy that, come to my small town. We can score some meth and hang out with Itchy and Ashy Larry down at the Tim Hortons. Then I will sell you my NWA picture disc for $100.

Oof, 3? I was debating heading to mine at 6. But even though I like weirdos just fine, I don't particularly like anyone in the morning.

Do it! Hi-Voltage is great. I have never had an issue getting everything on my list from them (knocks on wood). Up until the pandemic I would usually go super early but since the pandemic with the extra RSD being spread out, I was less diligent going super early. I would still go by sometime in the morning but after the store opens for regular business and I still was able to pick up most everything I wanted. I will post a photo of me standing in line once I get there if ya end up making the trek say hello!

Dude I live in Tacoma, we’re a special brand of weird here that is hard to beat. No meth but I have been offered (and accepted) both beer and weed while waiting in line.

I am not a morning person either but if I lay down at like 8 and am asleep by 9 I can usually function pretty good on 6 hours. Plus now they are opening at 7 AM. I will be back home by 7:30 and can get a few more hours of shut eye if need be.

I say do it. And while chatting in line if the person in front of u is there excessively for the Taylor 7” have them grab an extra Pepper in Mono for ur good friend POGunter who will promptly paypal u for the record and postage. U would also have my thx. :-).

I had to do a double take, when you said Pepper in Mono, I got SUPER excited for a minute.

Sorry. :). I was just being brief. TheInGroove has a large stack and with no prior knowledge my bet is Plaidroom maxed out on the title so with luck I should score one. Likely a fair # of people will grab one just to help finance their other RSD buys. I’m not paying a big flipper premium so it is what is. I don’t have a major attachment to the rec other than it will go with the new series that promises to be awesome.

Anyone know if the Art Pepper album in mono is the way to go? I like the album but I don’t have a vinyl copy. I was going to get the stereo version later this fall.

This should have been a RSD 1st title maybe with an extra something tossed in. No need to turn it into an instant collectable.
They have done this with a few titles doing the mono only for RSD. They did it with Quiet Kenny and a Chet title (last I looked the Chet was still really cheap).

A few years ago while waiting for the RSD doors to open the guy who was second in line (I was 3rd) was nice and helped a girl that was first in line secure both covers of the South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut Soundtrack. She didn’t even have a record player but was a South Park fanatic so she gave him the money and helped her out.
