Definitive Audiophile pressings

Seems like Ryan Smith is doing most of the Classics over the last little while, too, so there's also that.

And as great as Kevin Gray is, Smith actually deserves more credit for his work. I've got over 80 RKS albums in my collection, and looking at what he's done – everything from the Dylan mono box to the Impulse and Verve reissues he's doing for AP – it's all pretty excellent.
I think I prefer KG (no surprise there) but RKS is no slouch. Him and Bellman are tied for 2nd favorite for me and Bernie rounds up the top 4.

Another week without a shipping confirmation from AS.

Week 6 now, 3 of them "in progress". Also managed to authorize my card twice for the full amount (when i ordered and when it moved to warehouse) so i've had a total of $719 frozen on my card for the past 4 weeks. One of them expire on Tuesday, though, so that's good haha

And i know they're busy but it's still annoying when you see people get there orders they placed long after i did.
I would send them a email tbh

I sent them one Friday last week and this was the reply:

"At this time our warehouse is roughly 7-10 business days behind from when the order is sent to the warehouse and I do apologize for the delay. Our warehouse is currently facing delays due to an influx of orders, however we are working diligently to have your order out as quickly as possible. Once officially shipped you will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking information. In addition, I do apologize for the double authorization and we have released one which should return to your account within 72 business hours.

We do have a YouTube video from Chad himself explaining the situation further.

"

That double authorization has not been replaced btw. I might try again on Wednesday night if nothing has happened before that.

What’s your most random or surprising Kevin Gray pressing? Mine has to be a three way tie between Weezer’s Green Album, Sublime, and Enema of the State.
Probably this...

Mainly because lots of people complain about how terrible this album sounds on wax. I never understood the disdain, It always sounded great to me. Turns out only the early pressings were cut by KPG and pressed at RTI. The later pressings are the ones that sound like garbage.

Or

I have three Galaxie 500 albums that he did.

Those Galaxie 500 reissues should be the benchmark for reissues. Flawless pressings, great packaging and great sound. All that for ~$20 each.

Same, those all sound great.

It seems like Kev used to do a lot more Indie Rock and Alternative albums than he does today. I have KPG cut records from: Bon Iver, Songs: Ohia, CCS, But To Spill, Cat Power, Pavement, Death Cab For Cutie, Destroyer, Jens Lekman, Guided By Voices, Jenny Lewis, Rilo Kiley, Green Day, New Pornographers, Sufjan Stevens, and Sonic Youth
Yet none of them were probably cut in the past 5 years and most are probably cut more than a decade ago.

This one was a surprise find.

As for our other titans

Bernie (He has some doozies)

Yes, I have some questionable taste. :D This is easily my most surprising.

The Bird and the Bee a Tribute to Hall and Oates.

Also my most surprising "It's worth WHAT NOW?"

Spinning the UHQR I bought when Mather wasn't looking. Okay the Family copy is definitely very good, but this kills it. I mean it's obviously going to vary depending on system and I'd say that this definitely benefits from having a higher end system but fucking wow man. This album isn't supposed to sound like this.
