This Mofi REM is great and also happens to be my fav album of theirs. I know it’s not a popular choice, but I was pretty into REM in real time until Document, which has my fav song of theirs (“King of Birds”) but otherwise that album as a whole doesn’t do much for me. Some good stuff after they blew up with Document, but none rises to the LRP level for me.

I know it’s not a popular choice, but I was pretty into REM in real time until Document, which has my fav song of theirs (“King of Birds”) but otherwise that album as a whole doesn’t do much for me. Some good stuff after they blew up with Document, but none rises to the LRP level for me.

Lifes Rich Pageant is my favorite too, but Document is my second. Both are perfect.

Primus was definitely going to be my answer. Probably the most left-field title.

They also did a ton of cool stuff on CD. Not sure why they abandoned doing all those titles...

I grabbed the Murmur MoFi last year. I could be wrong, but pretty sure all those tapes are lost so none of those early REM albums will get AAA reissues.
