Definitive Audiophile pressings

Good information, Chad’s enthusiasm radiates in the video and seems to speak for itself. Hate or love him it’s refreshing to hear from a company that shares the same passion. Any guesses what the next UHQR might be? I’m thinking The Doors S/T and 45 KOB

I'll have to check out the video.
I thought everyone was reporting the KOB tapes were toast after the last UHQR run.

AS puts out some killer releases, especially if you are a jazz enthusiast. No debating that. Now only if some of that passion would translate to a more modern Ecom and fulfillment platform. 😀

They seem to be very passionate as well on their pricing of used Mofi titles. 😐

My last two orders shipped next day and were packed perfectly.
If anyone is on the fence with the Miles SDMPWC restock.
It's really impressive.

Bluesey Burrell also smashed it.

You have to wonder how much is left in these old tapes.
The quality and price points are hard to argue.

I enjoy his transparency. That's really all I'm asking from MOFI.

He said in the video that 2023 will make classic rock fans happy.

Yup. Did you ever pick up Carnegie Hall? Both are pretty much perfect probably only need one but damn that are both so effing good.
I haven't got Carnegie no. I'm honestly not like, a huge Neil fan. I've got the really good best of he put out. Up The Rust Bucket and now Massey and I think I'm probably good with those, kinda covers most of what I want from him I think. But I just can't get over how good this sounds. I'm sure Carnegie is unreal as well.

So last year some time I bought a 30th Anniversary Dark Side off Discogs for $150, labeled as NM/VG+. While the record looked NM, maybe VG+, there some very loud distracting pops on the ending of On The Run through the clocks on Time, and also throughout the majority of Us And Them. Paying what I did, I don’t get much enjoyment out of it since I feel like I got duped.

Then I saw the raffle here for the MoFi Songs For the Big Chair, and wondered if there would be any interest for the DSOTM I have. Sure, someome wouldn’t be very likely to buy mine for anywhere near what I paid for it, but if I followed the same format ($2 per entry, no limit), this record could be well worth $10 or $20 to the “winner”.

Thoughts? Would anyone be interested in this? Or would the pops make it a no go?

The KOB tapes were toast well before that. Chad never had the tapes, he used the old Classic Grundman plates.

The master is now considered to be the three channel analog remix, which MOFI used.
Interesting. That would make a 45 rpm unlikely?
So when was the cutoff for the master tape lacquers?

I have a NM '70 stereo in route.
Hoping that is my final copy I'll be happy with

Man, I love KOB -- it is literally one of the records that got me into jazz (like many other people) -- but holy shit how many more fucking pressings of the damn are needed?
